Need some special event help!

Okay, we are traveling to WDW in 19 days!

However, this afternoon my mother has informed me that she wants to find "something special" to treat everyone to one day. We are a group of 19, so I'm sure that leaves out a lot of options. Also, she wants to keep the cost semi-reasonable, around $30 or less per person. I've tried to explain to her how booking things at Disney works, like when we were booking our ADRs at 90 days, etc. but she obviously didn't grasp the concept that we have to book things in advance!!

Is there anything you guys can suggest? Hopefully several ideas since I imagine things are very booked up at this point.

Maybe you can see about getting ressies for the MK fireworks dessert party one of the nights you are there. I believe they are currently charging $23.99 for an adult and I don't remember the child price right now.

I think the dessert buffet is a great one, but if that doesn't work in your schedule...

Not an experience, but she could always get Disney Dollars or Disney Gift Cards and give them out to each person with the directions to spend it on something that they would like to commemorate the trip with, but wouldn't have bought for them selves. That way everyone gets a special treat and it's less stressful for your Mom trying to plan something that will please everyone.

i agree with both ideas above.............how bout she buys the photopass cd for u all to share..........everyone gets photopass cards and then put em all on one cd and she buys it, $99 if u pre buy it, NOW!!

You could go to the beach club hotel and go to beaches and cream and get the kitchen sink.Four people could eat one or each person eats there own.

I like all of the ideas above! I also thought of maybe taking everyone mini golfing? WDW has two golf courses and both are a lot of fun (both also have 2 different course choices). Or you could see if they have cheaper tickets to La Nouba at Downtown Disney.

Why not do the Behind the Seeds tour at the Land at Epcot? Around $10 a person!

That is a HUGE group at WDW. Trust me, I've hosted some Japanese families that are business friends of my dad's (3 women and 4 kids, we had 10 total, which doesn't sound like a lot, and that was 18 years ago, before Tourguide Mike!) I had our itinerary down to the hour! Also, Fastpass was not in existence.

If someone wants to do something nice just to show appreciation, definitely the gift card is the easiest way.

We did spring break a couple of years ago with my family - 6 adults and 6 kids. We were together for one chaotic meal (kids ranged in age from under one to 15). It is really hard to do that, but being on a concierge level helps with having somewhere to gather (they wouldn't listen to me about staying at the BWV, which later they thought would have been nicer than AKL).

I hope you have it worked out that you will all go do what you want and meet up for specific things. There is no way I'd follow 18 others around WDW and actually enjoy it. I went with my best friend and our 6 kids total, and we did about half the rides together. The year I hosted the friends of my dad's, it was work! Fun, a bit, but defiinitely work. I'd never go with a big group again, but with my friend, she is like me, very flexible, and she'd never been so the first day or two she just went with the flow. Just don't worry if they don't want to do what you do - I'd suggest just meeting up once a day or so. Trust me; either you "get it" or you don't. My family, and my in laws, don't. So we go without them (with my family we had no choice, but won't again, and we paid our way, which was a waste).

Go to Ohanas for dinner...they can accomodate a large group and they will make certain your time is special. Try to book a table when the fireworks are going off...

Great idea......BUT they are checking in in 6 days. There's no way an ADR for 19 people would be available at this point.

How about meeting up somewhere like the entrance to Main Street, and having the photopass guys take a few photos - then they can order one for everyone, and get a cute Disney frame for each member? Nice memory, probably less than $25 or so each, maybe $30. No calories, either. Or after the photo, sit together for a sweet treat from a bakery there - early there are usually sets of little tables free to relax and start the day together.
