We are heading to WDW next weekend. It has been a partcularly stressful week for me.:sad1: Yesterday my DH suggested I have some pmpering while on vacay!:lovestruc:cool1: I have only visited a spa once in my life for a wonderful 6 hrs of prenatal pampering.:cloud9: I am excited! But I have NO idea where to start!:confused3 What should I do? I would love to do a package, but I will be taking time out from my family and leaving my nursing 4 month old with DH. Obviously, I can't be gone too long. The hydromassage at SSR sounds nice, but a Disfriend suggested a facial, since you get a scalp massage and such too (more bang for your buck). WWYD? What have you experienced at a Disney spa?

I would recommend a relaxation or aromatherapy massage and against the facial. I've gotten facials in the past and I've usually ended up with red splotches and patches. Depending on your skin type, I'm not sure that will be as relaxing as a message.

I should mention that I was born w/o a sense of smell. Strange, I know. Many of the therapies sound like they smell just yummy! I wouldn't know for sure though. I don't have sensitive skin. It's funny, b/c when Matt first brought this up he sai I needed it all, including cucumbers on my eyes!!! LOL! I have only had a prenatal massage, which was wonderful at the time, but isn't much. What is good?

Out of the three spas (GF, SSR, and Dolphin) SSR is my fav, with the Dolphin a close second.

Plan on having lunch at the Turf Club; it is one of the best kept secrets there. Than walk over to DTD for some shopping. There is a transfer bus station that goes to all the resorts, so you can easily get back to your resort for a little nap!;)

Great! Thanks! I am leaning more toward SSR. I think I like the ambiace better. Can you suggest anything for me as far as treatments?

Definitely get a massage. And a body polish. Aromatherapy is about the smells, but also about the oils seeping into your skin and how that feels. So your lack of a sense of smell wouldn't make the aromatherapy massage a total waste of money.

I would also skip the facial ... especially since you've never had one. You don't want to have a reaction and be all broken out during your vaca :sad2:

Whatever you decide to do ... ENJOY IT!

I did the combined swedish massage and mani/pedi afterwards. There was a $50.00 coupon on the Disney website for it.

It was fab-u-lous.......followed by a wonderful lunch out on the deck at the Turf Club and a water taxi ride back to my resort at POR - it was a wonderful way to spend a "me" day.

I did the hydro-therapy massage at SSR. It was a package with a regular massage and the hydro. I wasn't too sure about the hydro but it ended up being great! You lay in a big jetted tub and they use this vibrating wand along your arms, legs and back. Really relaxing! They also have a chocolate wrap that I would LOVE to try someday :)

We did a couples spa at GF and it was nice but it was nothing compared to my spa day at the Dolphin (Mandara)...that was unbelievable! Best facial and stone massage I have ever had

When you have the Swedish Massage at any of the spas they will ask if you want the scalp and facial massage included ... so the scalp is included without the facial! We have had massages and both SSR and Muscles and Bustles at the Boardwalk ... nice!!:goodvibes
