My wife is running the Wine & Dine 1/2 Marathon in November, we would like to stay at one of the host resorts so we can use Disney transportation to get back after the party late at night/early in the morn.

We have decided with either Caribbean beach or one of the two Port Orleans resorts.

Which of these three would you suggest we stay at? We're leaning towards Caribbean beach, but are the Port Orleans resorts better in a way we haven't seen yet?

We chose POFQ because of the size of the resort. CB - has an internal busline because it is so bog. POR would be my second choice. We spent some time there and loved it. Friends of ours have stayed there and were very happy.

POR is amazing. We loved the food, the piano man in the bar was great entertainment. Very relaxing. Beautiful to walk around.:thumbsup2

If short bus rides are your key need, I would go POFQ. Yes, it does share a bus with POR, but only sometimes. Additionally, it is usually the first stop, so you will get on first when going to the parks and get off first when coming home. CBR is great, but the buses are not one of the reasons.

We have stayed at POP 3 times, is POR, or POFQ closer in size to Pop? I know CBR is big, but how much bigger?

CBR is big, but POR is almost just as big in my opinion.
We like CBR although it is not the most popular choice. We are staying in a preferred room this time, but before we had a standard room in Aruba which was just right across the bridge. It was about a 5-6 minute walk. We had requested Aruba or Jamaica which is just a quick jump across the bridge to OPR.
We have stayed at POR as well. Just didn't like the theme as well. The food court was good. We just love the beachy feel of CBR better.

Personally I would suggest CSR....Which either you forgot about or ruled it out.
If thats the case I would pick POR. CBR would definetely be my last choice...Just my opinion, that's all.

Having stayed at both POFQ and POP, I can tell you for sure that POFQ is much smaller. The size of the resort gives it a more relaxing, quaint feel to me. It's much more peaceful and calmer. Not near as much hustle and bustle as at POP. We slept so much better at POFQ (kids/people weren't running up and down the walkways past room at all hours of the night, not as noisy overall anywhere on the resort property). We also had much better bus services from there than at POP. We really liked our stay at POFQ, particularly compared to other stays at POP. POFQ has a fun atmosphere, but it is calm and relaxing at the same time. Perfect balance. If you plan on going to DTD at all, one other perk of staying at POFQ or POR is that it has a boat service that takes you on a short ride there.

I would lean towards the 2 PO resorts, having queen beds and boat to DTD are a couple of big reasons. Plus POFQ was refurbed last year and POR is in the middle of their refurb now and will be done by November.

We've only stayed at POFQ so far, so can't really offer an unbiased opinion - but we love it and would definitely recommend it. We would be there this trip too but it was booked so we took POR. We love the small size, theming, service (the CMs in the food court had nightly cookie decorating for the kids when we were there last time and they were great with the kids), the boat to downtown...everything about it.

We have stayed at both POR and POFQ and love both. I actually prefer POR because I like the option of a quiet pool and the food court is my favorite!

I just want to ditto that the food court at POR was awesome~ esp the breakfast!

One day I want to do one of the long runs at WDW...that would be awesome. I think I would go for a half though : ) Good luck to your wife.
eta: whoops I thought I saw that the race was a full marathon...dope.
