Need some reassuring.......

Hi all, we are headed to Universal in 4 days and soooo excited ...BUT i am so nervous about the weather...10 day forcast is out and they all say storms.... ...for all who've been this time of year..do these storms usually end quickly or do they go all night...do sometimes they skip right over US???I knew this when we booked the trip but i guess now that its so close the reality is hitting.. we do have our ponchos so im not worried about being court..but it does put a damper when its raining...anyone...Please....thanks all for all your help....

Storms in FL during the summer are two things: common and fickle.

Common because they happen almost every afternoon.

Fickle because sometimes they last for 30-60 mins and are gone for the day. Other times it stays rainy for hours/all day. Just go there with the intent of having fun, and bring your poncho. If it starts raining (no lightning) then go on a water ride. You're going to get wet either way.

don't look at advance forecasts, because they change every day. plan for an afternoon rain beginning anywhere from 2-4. like Dark Marauder said, they're usually brief, if they happen.

we very rarely get a day where it rains all day, that's usually called a hurricane.

On The last visit I made to USF/IOA it was supposed to pour on and off through out the day(according to the 10 forecast). When went regardless and it didn't rain once

When we was down in early june the ten day also said the same thing but it usually rain either late after noon or late night and like everyone else said it only lasts a very short time and if your at the universal studios side when it rains all rides are on inside so the rain doesn't make a differance.

The other posters are correct about the storms here. I live about 20mins from Universal and have had NO rain since Sunday afternoon while other parts of town have been getting torrential downpours. Don't let the threat of storms ruin the fun!
