Need some opinions/photo please

Hi all-
DH and I are working on planning a 2 week trip to WDW in Dec. I'd like to do some photos.
We had Regina for our MK session and we loved her, but as you know, she went off on her own and cannot do any pics in the parks, only at resorts etc.

Right now I'm debating between having Regina do our pics at AKL (where we've already done wedding photos with Randy and a honeymoon session with Amy) or hiring DPS (requesting Ty and someone else) to do pics in AK (where we've never done pics before). This is during park hours however since it's not a bridal shoot.

The price is the same basically, except with Regina it's an hour and a half, but with DPS, it's only an hour...and we can't afford both.....

I was thinking of doing a different resort with Regina, but AKL is the one we are the most sentimental about, we own DVC there and will be staying there for a week out of the two week vacation.
The other thing is, we weren't happy with the pics Amy took when we did our honeymoon shoot there. Plus, I weighed more at our wedding....I've lost some weight and would most likely lose more before December...

I'd like to see what Regina could do at AKL, but I also would love to do pics in AK!

Which would you choose and why etc.?

Have you seen some examples of AK pics? I normally get swayed but other people's pretty photos that I want!

As for resort photos, you might want to look into the Port Orleans Riverside gazeebos and/or mansion staircases/balconies.

Except that we have no personal connection to POR except for my inlaws staying there for our wedding trip and me being not impressed about the resort (sorry, I know lots here love it!)

Did you have photos taken at both Jambo House and Kidani Village? If not, perhaps you could choose the other location this time around? Or maybe a different savannah viewing area for the backdrop, different time of day, etc.? AKL is my favorite resort, so I totally understand where you're coming from. DAK would be great too, but there are plenty of unique locations at AKL that I'm sure you could find somewhere you didn't go before - especially if you have your heart set on wanting to use Regina.

Where would you want photos in AK, would the backdrops be any better than AKL?

I would have photos taken at DAK. The pictures from there are just awesome, and you already have photos from AKL. Here's a thought - how about requesting Amy from Disney Photography? Her style is very similar to Regina's. Just my opinion, but I'm biased (I think DAK is the most beautiful park in WDW).

Yeah, we had Amy for our honeymoon shoot in AKL and Epcot and we weren't happy.
There is another DPS photographer I like but can't think of her name...have heard some not good things about Ty...
Right now I'm leaning towards Regina...I felt very comfortable with her....

the volume and quality of finished product you are apt to get with your own chosen photographer, even at AKL and not AK, would be my first priority if thats the picture budget, especially if it isn’t a shoot in the parks “alone” and especially if i had lost weight (wishing!) and wanted some pics that i liked of myself! i’m so glad we were able to do the MK shoot for the wedding, but i really don’t like any of the pics of me (and the composition and most of the editing was perfectly fine) but i LOVE the pics david and vicki arndt did for our wedding etc... i actually like the pictures of me and that’s saying alot. i think hiring someone you like for something, even in the resort, will net you more pictures like overall (at a WAY better price).

Thanks all DISbrides new and old....

I've decided to go with Regina! Have just sent the contract back and now just need to pay the deposit!

I've reached out to Patricia LeJeune but have not heard back anything yet....

I really hope she'll do it! I guess I'll wait 'till Friday (as that will be one week since initial contact for this) and then give her/them a call.



Now I just have to figure out what to wear! (Or buy to wear!)
