I need help...
My wife and I are planning one last small weekend getaway before our second child is born in November. We are planning on heading to Disnay October 14th. Were would you stay in a studio to make it kind of special. The only plans we have is to see Cirque while we are there. I was thinking the BWV but was kind of nervous with the remodel of rooms( is the prefered view worth it?). We love the boardwalk ( since we were engaged there ) I do not have enough points for a Disney hotel so its DVC properties for us. I look forward to all your advice.

DH and I did a "mini trip" last Feb. We stayed at VWL in a one -bedroom ( jacuzzi). It kind of was silly to fly all the way from Philadelphia for just 2 nites but we had a blast!! I think wherever you stay would be good. We had never stayed at WVL before and weren't sure If we were going to like it and we loved it!! Very romantic too! We enjoyed the adult aspects of WDW this time as we have to Ds's usually in tow! We stayed to watch Wishes and had a late dinner at Kona ....just the best!! DH was surprised I planned the night in MK as he thought Epcot would be more appropriate with out the kids...he was wrong! There can be magic and romance wherever you choose to make it happen!
Have Fun!

BWV or BCV may be tough since it is Food & Wine Festival time in Epcot. I second the idea for WLV. I think it is most romantic. Secluded, quiet, can't beat the atmosphere in the lodge. Dinner at Artist POint is one of my favorites. Walk or ride on the trail to Fort Wilderness. Enjoy the beach. Grab a drink and enjoy one of the out of the way balconies the lodge has. Great idea during the Electric Water Pagent. Grab a hot chocolate and sit ina rocking chair in front of the fire place. Or even better, never leave the room at all.;) WLV is my favorite. For a romantic trip, I can't think what would be a better choice.

The most romantic I did during our getaway was to book a 1B instead of a Studio. I had hoped to make the room upgrade a surprise for DW, but a phone call from MS sorta ruined that.

Oh, and it didn't hurt that I got a convertible as our rental car. We flew into Sanford and that 1hr drive to WDW was just heaven--blue skies and perfect temperatures.

if you are only going to cirque why not SSR - I would suggest OKW - it is really closer to the West side - but 2 queens would not as much fun.....

If you folks like classic movies, you could make a reservation for a romantic supper at The Brown Derby. The walls are lined with thousands of caricatures of movie stars taken from the walls of the Brown Derby in Hollywood. The food is terrific. And try the Cobb Salad! It was invented at the Hollywood Brown Derby, and the original is different than what restaurants serve today--and utterly delicious.

This is where my wife and I usually go on our "date nite" at WDW.

If you have the points, an OKW 1 BR and that BIG 2 person tub.... ROMANCE!!!!

Good luck and have a great trip.

If you are not reserved yet for THIS October, you need to take anything you can get, and move quickly. Many days are sold out completely. I just tried to get a studio for friends ANYWHERE for the following week and there is nothing.

I agree on the "take what you can get." And while I agree with everyone who said the two-person jacuzzi in the one-bedroom is very romantic, I believe pregnant women aren't supposed to sit in bathtubs??? Could be wrong on that one though. I'd try for a studio at BWV -- even if it's a standard view, they may be able to get you something with a view of the fireworks from your balcony or something like that.

Happy planning!

congrats on your upcoming "magic".

Last year at this time I was 9mnths along. I can't think of anything that would have been more romantic to me at that time than a his and her message. Granted I am over 40 and have been married over 20 yrs, but that would have been VERY appreciated. Come to think of it I could use one now too. ;)

We love the boardwalk area and if you do end up there, some ideas for romance are to just really soak it up. We enjoy a nice evening in EPCOT strolling through the countries, stopping for dinner somewhere nice, watching fireworks. After an evening like that at EPCOT I feel like I have really been to Europe or somewhere exotic!

Good luck staying at BWV in October. We are there in early Oct. and looked into changing our dates and everything is sold out until November 14. We are waitlisted for extra days on our current trip. It is really nuts. I personally don't think a preferred view is worth the extra points, but I'm sure that is all that would be available. You almost get to a point where since availability is so tight, you are happy to have anything. At least that's where we stand right now.

Well good luck and enjoy your trip and good luck with your pregnancy!

Well,
We ended up making our ressies at Wilderness since everything is sold out we wanted 3 days we booked 2 and waitlisted 1. Thanks

VWL is a very romantic resort!!!

do you like woods?

hope so - because most of the views here are woods....It is a very wonderful place.

seating together in the room off the VWL front entrance around the fireplace (they finally got a fire in it....)

walking around the pathways to FW.

taking a boat out on Bay Lake

watching the EWP on the beach.

having a drink at their pool side bar.

DW and I stayed at the Polynesian last fall (FTP) and found that the walkways around the resort - and on the way to the GF - were quite romantic at night, what with the tiki torches, the lake and the "island music" softly playing. Romantic AND cheap - woo hoo!
