I don't know if this is the right place for this, but here goes:

I "bought" some free ebooks from amazon, and they aren't on my kindle. How do I get them there?

I also got some from the barnes and noble website, and they are in the same format as the current books on my email. Can I just drag and drop the file over to the documents folder on my kindle 2?

How do I get free ebooks from other sites on to my kindle?

I have some saved on my computer - they are in pdf format. I would like to read them on my kindle. How do I get them in a readable format? The same goes with txt (and rich text files).

I am so clueless!!

Thanks so much! :worship:

I'm no help with the other formats, but with the "free" Amazon purchases, don't forget that when you buy them, they go into your Amazon account. If your wireless is turned on, it quickly downloads onto your Kindle. In order to save on your battery, you probably leave the wireless off, which means your new books won't download until you go to the menu and turn the wireless back on. I only turn mine on if I buy a new book, and then maybe once a week or so to catch up on any software downloads.

Thank you! This solved the amazon issue!!!

I do keep the wireless turned off. I had the kindle usb cord in, so I needed to disconnect and turn the wireless on.

I just figured out the pdf thing using mobipocket creator. It builds an ebook or something.
