Need some input

I could really use some opinions on choosing a resort. I cannot decide between the All Star suites for a cabin in Fort Wilderness. Our kids ages range between 16 and 7 months. We have never stayed at either. I definitely want to stay on-site. How is easy is resort transportation in comparison to the two? Are the rooms comparable in comfort and "disney feel"? Is the bus service fast at closing times? I need all your input and any advice or tricks with either resort. Thanks so much:)

I would go for the All Star Suites. Having the 2 bathrooms will be a plus and even though FW has the boats that go to the MK, once you get back to the resort you either have to take the internal bus transportation to your cabin location or rent a golf cart. With a 7 month old I would think just getting on 1 form of transportation and getting back to your room would be easier.

I agree with both points of the PP. The only time we go anywhere with 1 bathroom is the great wolf lodge, and showers take forever! Plus, there is a line for the bathroom every morning.

I also agree with the pp and would add that at ASMu your older kids will be very close to the pool and the food court so if you need to stay in the room with the younger kids the older kids can still go do their thing but are very close to home at the same time. :thumbsup2

OH, I am not into values at all....too much hectic, too many people too much noise, etc etc...so I'd say FW...but thats just me....picking a resort is VERY personal so Research so you KNOW what to expect at each! Good Luck!

The internal bus system and distance to pool or food would be the deal breakers on Ft. Wilderness for me. I bet the cabins themselves would be very nice though.

We've done and loved both, and will do both again. Some things to consider:

Transportation at ASM is much quicker. If getting little ones home quickly is important, you'll be better off here. FW has an internal bus system that you have to transfer to and ride once the park bus drops you off.

Your 16 year old may not care for the fold-outs at ASM. There is only one "real" bed, and everyone else sleeps on fold out chairs and sofas. My teen prefers the murphy bed at FW, plus she is not sleeping in hearing distance of her brothers there (they snore).:rotfl:

ASM has better theming at the pools and outside the rooms. More fun and more colorful.

FW is MUCH quieter! There are also more kids' activities there -- a petting zoo, a beach, walking trails, playgrounds, an evening campfire -- for those who plan to spend time at their resort.

FW has a kitchen. It's a nice -- and much cheaper! -- to eat breakfast in your cabin than at a crowded food court.

ASM has the advantage of 2 bathrooms. Lately, this has been the deciding factor for us, given a teen who takes 45 minutes to straighten her hair.:scared1:

I think you'll be very happy either way. It's just a matter of what fits your family best.

We have never stayed at the familu suite so I only have advice about the cabins. I orginally booed the family suite for us but after booking it I had remorse and called and changed it to the cabins. So this will be our 2nd time at the cabins. We like the cabins becasue the kids love the campfire with Chip and Dayle. Plenty of room. Full kitchen since we do most meals in the room. There is just so much to do around the campgrounds. My kids met other kids and had a good time. The one bathroom does suck but it is do able. Does everyone need to shower in the morning? The buses are a little slower since you need one from the cabins to get to the buses to take you to the park so it isn't as fast BUT unless you are in a hurry it isn't all that bad.
