My husband and I were at US/IOA in July and it was not great, so hot and crowded. His shoulders were too big to fit on FJ but now they have modifiied seats we are thing of trying it again this month. We will be staying at Disney for a week and are looking at a day at IOA and I would like to do a night at HHN. Here are my questions:

  1. If I buy a one day ticket for IOA can I then buy the stay and scream or do I have to buy the one day for US?
  2. Another option is to buy AP for non-resident, which looks like it costs $289 and includes a night at HHN? Does this also give the holder express pass on the rides? And I thought I read somewhere it was good for 15 months? I am considering this as we will be back at Disney for a week in March. We are also AAA members so does anyone know if the AP is a better deal through AAA?
I am sure you guys have done the numbers, what do you think is the best option? Also can anyone tell me if the crowds have let up any at Wizarding World?

To do S & S at HHN, you must be inside the Studios prior to park closing so your ticket to IOA won't do you any good. There is no S & S area at IOA this year. Since you would have a valid park ticket, you could still purchase the HHN tickets at the S & S discount but that would not allow you early access to the Studios.

The Premier Pass does not include Express for HHN...HHN is a hard ticket event so nothing carries over from regular park hours. Also...while you would get a free non-peak ticket for HHN with the Premier AP, you would still need that person to be able to get into the Studios if you're planning on doing S & S. There is a separate Express Pass available for HHN. I think all passes are now 12 months...not 15.

So if I buy an IOA ticket I can then purchase the HHN tickets at the discount, then what time would I be able to get into HHN?

Also if I buy the Premier AP wouldn't I be able to go to either park and easily use the free HHN? Sorry I am confused by this. Thank you for your help

All you need to get the S & S discount is a valid park ticket for that same day. But remember...you will not be able to enter the Studios until 6:30pm when the outside gates open.

If you purchase the Premier AP, you will be able to go to both parks as much as you like. You would need to visit Guest Services...probably at the Studios...to exchange the voucher for the free HHN ticket. But...unless the person with you has access to the Studios during the day, they would not be able to enter with you. You would get the free HHN ticket and give it to them to use that night...or any other non-peak night.
