Need some info!!!

We're taking a Disney cruise next November--DS 8th birthday bash--as much as I feel I know WDW, I know nothing about US/IOA. We plan to spend either a couple of days before or after the cruise somewhere--tell me why you would choose US over WDW.

Thats a tough one. 8 huh? I would have to say it depends on your kid. How tall is he? Would he be horribly disappointed if he had to pass up some rides because he isnt tall enough? When my son was 8 he couldnt ride hulk or dragons, and was too scared to ride jurassic park at IOA, but was able to ride everything at Universal. Its a totally different type of park than disney, and 8 is such an in-between age, I'd concentrate on US and make sure he knew whether or not he was able to ride the coasters ahead of time. But I'm sure he would love Spiderman and all the wet rides at IOA.

He's 48 inches tall now--I don't know what the height restrictions are for any of the rides. Even at WDW this past April there were things he couldn't ride and he was okay with that--I'm pretty sure he wishes he was too short to ride the Tower of Terror too judging from the look on his face in the picture LOL!!

If your DCL is a 3 or 4 night, in November, you might actually get a good rate on a Land/Sea Pkg...have you priced them out?

Can't beat the Loews FOTL perc. Even if you stay off-site, the crowds would probably be much less than @ WDW.

Especially in off-season, Universal keeps "civilized" hours; you don't have to hop on a bus @ 7:00 a.m. for EMH's.

Lastly, with the combo tixs/spec. or even the limited AP prices are iwaaaaaaaay less money than 2 day or 3 day MYW tix @ WDW.

Don't get me wrong, my heart belongs to Disney & the Mouse owns me....but I'd rec. Univ in your case. Good Luck in your planning.
