Need some info and advice!

The last two years, DD (11) and I spend the week before Christmas at AKL and did the WDW Christmas thing - MVMCP, CP, Osborne Lights, etc. This year, DD has asked for a "Universal Christmas" so here's where I need the info and advice as we've only ever been to Universal in the summer months.

Which hotel would be good for us (decorations, special events, etc) and are there any special events in USO/IoA going on?

I guess I need to be convinced to make the quantum leap from WDW!

OMG I HIGHLY recommend PBH for the holidays. We stayed last year from dec 27 thru jan 1. We got a bayview room (the way to go for seeing the activies and festives imho during the holidays). We would watch every evening them setting up for the grichmas reading and photo op down on the piazza. Also we knew when to head down at the same time to get the hot choc or milk with our cookies and brownies they offered! IT was so great to wacth the grinch chase around the kids and play with them on the piazza after the readings where over. There was always something going on in the hotel lobby, wine sampling, cooking samples and things like that. We over looked beautiful outdoor 50ft tree with all the trimming's and they had a huge train set that went around it. IT was wonderful if we opened our balcony doors we could hear the chrismtas carols outside while we got dresses. IT was all so very christmas like. Loved it, will do it again! Have fun planning your trip. Here's a tip go ahead bite the bullet and book early with the only discount they have for that time AAA. THen about 3 days before you leave and get a great rate on your ressies'. I booked at AAA rate of 259 or close to that for a del room. Ended up with 179 AP rate three days before leaving on a whim i called it pays to persist!
