Okay ladies! (and maybe a gentleman or two)

As some of you may know, my fiance and I have decided to do our Wishes wedding alone, with no guests. (My PJ explains, lol) The Escape package offers stuff we don't need and when we add on just a few simple things we want... we're already at the Wishes minimum... so we're going for it!!

So now before I bug my coordinator about my 18,297th change... I am trying to get things in order.

What I'm asking for is help in spending my money

So far we know we want:

November 2012
10:00am Wedding Pavilion (Right now we have 2:30 WP / Summerhouse penciled)

2 Small Calla Lilly arrangements on the edges of the alter
2 column rentals
2 Large Calla Lilly arrangements in tall vases
Mickey and Minnie
Petal Cannon
DFTW Cake Serving Set
An awesome 2 tier cake - budget 500?
MK Photoshoot (with no guests I'm leaning more towards it)
Bouquet - Large White Calla Lillies
Bout

So we're kicking around the idea of a private lunch/reception-ish meal. But where?? There's only 2 of us. :confused3

Even for a dessert party... there's just 2 of us :confused3 Can you have a private dinner during Illuminations?? I have no idea--I'm at such a loss now... I just want it to be an amazing day since we have a nice budget for 2 :wizard:

If we didn't want to eat in a restaurant with other people... what would you suggest?? I'm also picky/allergic so the idea of customizing a meal sounds amazing to me!!

So... Locations? Ideas? Thoughts?? I'm up for anything!!

Also... I know at some locations, they only offer buffet options. This would be fine, but would it be silly? Would they even do it??

Also, if you and your spouse were married with no guests and you have any suggestions... they're certainley welcome!!

Thanks!!!

Personaly, I would not settle for just the average dinner anywhere on the disney property with everyone else. You should talk with your coordinator at disney and see if they can have something special set up for the two of you. A nice romantic spot. I can think of many places to have a great dinner at but of course you are going to be stuck with the general public and I don't think that is what you are looking for. You need some help from the on site cordinator.:)

You should see if you could do a private dinner at one of the locations in the theme parks. Or have dinner aboard an Illuminations cruise! I would definitely do something AMAZING if it were just the two of us! Happy planning!

We had our wedding last November with no guests and I have to say it was just perfect. I'm sure you and your husband to be will have a wonderful day. :bride:

Our wedding was at 5pm so we went straight from our ceremony over to the GF for a meal at V&A's. It was the most wonderful meal we've ever eaten, I cannot recommend it enough.

If V&A's isn't your thing have you thought of having a private meal at the GF or perhaps on a yacht?

Oh I just thought what about a romantic balloon ride over WDW?

What about renting out the GF's yacht for a private fireworks cruise with dinner and all. For whatever reason I can't remember what its called... Grand 1?

I think doing something in epcot or animal kingdom would be best. - or renting the big yacht and doing a catered dinner during wishes. Do you want an outside photog there? Lurkyloo did a private dinner for 2 at UK pubside in epcot - but I'd ask your consultant about other options there for 2. Maybe you could do a private catered brunch, then desserts/cake in epcot at night? I bet you could use the attic for brunch ($1,000 F&B minimum - cake gets you halfway there). But that's at the BW. You could also do the brunch part at summer house ($1,000 min) or sago cay ($1,000 min). It doesn't look like either have minimum guest counts. So my suggestion is 10 am ceremony, buffet brunch for 2 at sago cay or summer house, then private dessert party at epcot or on the yacht for wishes that night.

We are planning on having just the two of us at our (Escape) wedding - I can't wait! I'm going to check out your PJ now, I'm excited to find another "just the two of us" couple!

I agree with Leonix's suggestion about a post-ceremony meal V&As - that's what we're planning to do, and keep our wedding attire on. We also love the dessert party idea but are just hoping to go to the MK terrace party on another night of our trip, so it won't be particularly intimate..

If you're still looking for things to spend money on what about Cinderella's Carriage?

P.S. These are probably obvious questions but what is a petal canon (I'm interested at the possibility of having petals in the air photos but didn't think it would be possible for us since we won't have any guests to throw them!) and what is the DFTW cake serving set?

We didn't think we'd get this either but our planner and the other staff at our ceremony surprised us and covered us in petals. It was a wonderful surprise, I'm sure if you mention it to your planner they'll do this for you and you could keep it a surprise from your future husband. :thumbsup2

If it helps either of you I did a podcast on Inside Disney if you want to know more about how the day went: http://www.insidedisneyweddings.com/2011/03/escape-wedding-spotlight-nicola-anthony/

Thanks! I'm going to gather some ideas then probably contact them after Memorial Day... Maybe they'll have better ideas than me? But sometimes it seems as if you have to do your own research with them.

Thanks! I was thinking a dinner at one of the dessert party locations? I'm so nervous about a fireworks cruise because November nights are brrrrr chilly, lol!

Yep! The Grand 1...... I just LOVE this idea, just scared it'll be too cold :(
But maybe a possibility :)

I swear... we think EXACTLY alike, lol. In my head, I was thinking of some private set up in Sago Cay for lunch (he doesn't do much breakfast/brunch) about 11:15ish. We'll be up so early (hopefully with a MK shoot that morning), we'll probably be ready to eat our arms off by then. Then I was thinking of doing a dinner for Illuminations as well? Maybe have a Disney Photographer there... maybe? We'll probably have room in the budget to do both. He doesn't want to wear his tux all day, and I'm not 100% sure I want to re-dress that night..... so I may have just found use for that Black and Charcoal dress I had my eye on :cool1: Who knows.

Yay for another "just the 2 of us" couple!! We were thinking about the carriage, and although I love it... he's not so in love with it, lol. If he doesn't love it... we can probably find better use of the $2700. The petal cannons are $500 and burst petals into the air... just like confetti! I desperately want a picture of us with the petals in the air and this is just the ticket!! The serving set says Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings on it... I want it as a keepsake. I think you may get this with an Escape Wedding... but I'm not sure!

I have to get better at those podcasts!! I listened to all of them for a while, but after I got a new phone... I keep forgetting!! I'll listen for sure!!
