I have bad veins. My doc wants me to lose more weight in order to elleviate the pressure but I am having a hard time finding excersise that doesn't hurt my legs. Lately everything seems to hurt.
 
If you have a gym or YMCA near you that offers water aerobics or other water exercises, try that... VERY gentle on legs and everything else, but very effective.
 
Have you asked your physician for recommendations for exercise? Perhaps he could refer you to a physical therapist who could help you find a work out that works best for <i>you</i>.
 
I agree with Kath - ask your Doctor for advice. :D
 

Have you tried bike riding outdoors? You can pedal at your own pace and the weight is off your legs. I know I really enjoy it!

I found Pilates to very good for my legs even though it works the ab muscles. I do Pilates For Every Body with Denise Austin(the book) and it really helped me get rid of knee cracking and ankle discomfort(from a broken ankle). Its quite gentle all the way around and really works the abs.

If you have a gym or YMCA near you
you might also consider strength training. I have been doing it for only a week. It is very important to get someone to show you what to do & how to do it. THe man at the Y showed me how to use every machine; where to place the seat; how much weight to start with. Some of my weights are as low as 10lbs. I do a small # of repetitions while I build up to more weight. In just 2 workouts my legs felt "sturdier" -not that they every felt wobbly but it is a great feeling.
