On the first day of our trip Aug 30 - We will be arriving around 6 PM..We will go to ASMo to check in. I then wanted to head to MK to see SpectroMagic and Wishes and the Kiss goodnight thing. SpectroMagic starts at 9 and Wishes is at 10. Originally I wanted to head the DTD to eat dinner at Earl of Sandwich, but now that I think about it, I dont know if we will have enough time to check-in, then head to DTD, and still have enough time to make SpectroMagic and Wishes.:confused3
I like to have two plans that is why I am writing to get everyones opinion. We will have a car so we can always drive and not have to rely on Disney's transportation. Can anyone tell me some goods CS places?? I was thinking Columbia Harbour House , any other suggestions?

Thanks.

Pecos Bill's at the MK has good food (IMO) for CS. They have pretty darn good fixin's bar to go with it too!

You are right, you won't. Columbia has the "best" food for CS. Casey's at the corner of Main Street is a good choice to get in and out quick and get a spot for the fireworks/parade.

Mind you I need to go to Picos bill at least once and we are not big on CS anymore but that is for burgers I just like the place
Columbia has the best other then burgers and... CS

I am another one that votes for Columbia House but if worse comes to worse. Just eat at ASMo. It really isn't that bad and it has a good variety for everyone.

A good eat by the seat of your pants first night meal would be Casey's hotdogs in my opinion. I think you won't have much time at all. Arrive around 6pm could be an hour or so till you check in and get to room. Freshen up/ clean up/ unpack 1/2 hour (7:30) 1/2 to drive to MK you're getting there around 8Pm. I'd have me a great big hotdog. Yummo.:cool1:

Love columbia house if time allows if not I'd go for the hot dogs from Caseys and eat while waitin for parade. LOVE those hot dogs at Caseys only hot dogs I'll eat at disney. Eatin in the food court is also a possiblity but I think I'd push to get to the park see how much time I had then take it from there.

All good suggestions above. Lucky for you, MK has some pretty good CS places. Don't stress yourself out on your first night!

Have a great trip!

I loved columbia house. A bunch of us got the fish and chicken plate and it was not what I expected. It was wonderful. I highly recommend columbia house.

I wouldn't try to do DTD and MK both on arrival night. We've done the "we're here--let's just get to a park and eat" thing, and the best recommendation I have is to at least grab a snack at your resort's food court before you head out. Once we enter the park, we inevitably detour to attractions and before we know it, everyone's getting really cranky and we're nearly passing out from hunger. If you plan to grab a hot dog at Casey's, you might be okay, but it's a long haul back to CHH, past lots of tempting, tantalizing attractions. . . .

columbia harbor house has become a first day tradition me and dw always eat there after we check in and don't forget the best dining room there is upstairs:goodvibes
