I have found two type of adaptors for electrical items in the U.S. and not sure which one's are most common. Do the U.S. wall electrical sockets have 2holes or 3 holes?

Hi again (I am not stalking you!). We use the adaptors with the 2 prongs, and the round thing. They brand is Korjo. Think I got them at Myer. I have taken them to the US 3 times and never had any problems.

Thanks! Okay, the 3 hole it is. I think that's the one we took to Hawaii a couple of years ago but just couldn't remember. I will have to have a more detailed look at that site and see what the 2 hole is for then.

LOL Jade...actually I'm almost positive you are the Jade that has helped me with my travel questions on EB too....am I right? I think we both have different usernames on there though and just ignore me if you have no clue what I'm talking about!!!! LOL!

Most receptacles are the grounded 3-hole style. And I believe all Hotels/Motels were required to change over to these a few years back.
There are also the GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters) those will trip with any change to the electrical current. Those are also 3-hole style, you should be ok bringing the 3-hole adapter, but if you want to fit 100% of the outlets over here then bring the 2-prong adapter(just not as safe).

Yeah, that would be me! I wondered the same thing. I am guessing that you recently asked about taking milk on the plane (couldn't help with that one as we used toddler formula).

Ooh I just went and bought an adaptor to take with us and didn't think that there would be different types, I just looked for one that said U.S. on it. I just raced upstairs to the suitcase to check what type I had, I managed to buy the 3 point one. :thumbsup2
I am also going to take a 4 plug powerboard so I can charge, phone, camera and video camera each night at the same time.
I read another Aussie on the board suggesting it and thought it was a great idea.
