Need some help with surprise ideas

We are taking my boys (ages 7 and 8) to Universal in September. For some unknown reason, I decided to check dates for MNSHP. They start on the day we are leaving. So, what's a girl to do, but extend the trip for another night to do MNSHP. We have never done this before and I am really excited about it (well, about everything really). Anyway, on to my help request ... we have decided that we are going to surprise the boys with this little addition while we are there. We thought we would wait and tell them about it the day we were supposed to leave. Does anyone have an ideas for something really fun, cute, creative and cool for the reveal?

You could decorate the room while they are sleeping with fun halloween/disney things and leave a note from Mickey saying something about you couldn't be here in Orlando and not visit me so I'm sending you a special invite to my MNSSHP tonight...I guess you will just have to stay another night.

OR

You could pretend to be packing up the room and have someone from the front desk deliver a present from Mickey. Have some costumes, treat bags or family halloween t-shirts inside the box along with an invitation to Mickey's party

OR

You could do an amazing race (or scavenger hunt) and have the last clue take them all the way to Magic Kingdom for MNSSHP. I have blank amazing race clue cards in my 4shared file in the link in my signature.

This is what I did 2yrs ago when we went to DW on our 1st family trip. I had told my girls that they could take their halloween costumes and wear 1 day at the park. 1 night we were leaving MK when they thought MK was closing and I told them that it was only open for a party that we had to pay extra for. The night we went we had come back to the room to rest awhile and told them since we were going back to the park later that they could wear their costume since it would be a little cooler. When we were on the bus alot of others were getting on dressed up and talking about MNSSHP and my girls kept talking with each other telling they wish they could go. You should of seen the looks of other people giving them when they were talking so disappointing that everybody else on the bus were going and they couldn't. When we got to MK and started heading toward the lines they lit up and were so excited...

Staci!!! I just read your MB thread!

So are you completely surprising the boys? They think they're going home, that day, but you're taking them to MNSSHP?

Perhaps you could tell them to pack up their things or check and make sure that they have everything. Then, in the tops of their suitcases, have MNSSHP shirts for them (if you'd like shirts for them to wear).

Are you staying on property at Universal?

Such great ideas and what a great invitation! Thank you so much for all the help. I think I love the idea of the desk delivering the package as were "packing up to go". Now, the really fun part begins; I get to make all kinds of goodies for the packages.

Victoria ~ We are completely surprising them with this! They have been asking when we are going back to Disney; so, this is going to make them deliriously happy! We are staying at the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal for the trip. I can't wait! I am getting more excited everyday!!
