I have a question for anyone who has stayed in an OKW Grad villa. Are the two bedrooms upstairs different in size? From the floor plan on the home page, one looks much bigger than the other, with one also having larger closets too. Also, what sizes are the beds in each of the rooms? I am getting different information on this one. When my parents were down there a few weeks ago the mousekeeping said the beds were all queen size. But, on the OKW page, the rooms were described as one having two queens and the other having two double beds. Normally I wouldn’t really be concerned, but I am heading there this August with my fiance who is 6’10” and needs more room to sleep. Unfortunately, my parents are taking the master suite!! Not fair!!! But no complaints…I will be in Disney World!! Life couldn’t get any better than that!! I would just like some info from firsthand experience. thanks!

The DVC website says one bedroom has 2 Queen size beds and the other has 2 Double size beds. Maybe someone with first-hand knowledge can tell you which is which. ;)

They are different sizes, as Pam says.

I say you put your foot down and take the Master Suite!!! Haha!

We have taken the Grand Villa on two occassions. Both times we have had the GV in the Turtle Pond area so I don't know if it makes a difference. Both Bedrooms had 2 Queen size beds in them. The one room, however, is smaller in size. We had 8 adults and 4 children in the GV at the time and everyone had enough room. Two adults slept on the pull out sofa. The big item seemed to be having enough bathrooms, and with 4 bathrooms the GV was our only choice.
:bounce:

The larger bedroom upstairs has 2 queens and the smaller one has 2 doubles. We usually put the family with the most kids in the one with 2 queens because they have more space to live in.

Who owns the membership? Usually they are the ones that get the master!

my parents are the ones who own. I keep telling them that my fiance will come in and carry them out in the middle of the night!!! They are great for letting us come down and stay for free........

I believe every GV I have stayed in has had two double beds in the smaller room. We only go with one other couple at a time and let the common kids take the bedroom with the double beds.

Your on vacation, who wants kids sleeping in your room???

We were in GV in Sept.'00 in the Turtle Pond area. Upstairs bedrooms 2 queens, 2 doubles. Have a great time!!

The bigger bedroom has queen size beds, and the smaller bedroom has double beds.

Last december when hubbys whole family met @ WDW.
We traded timeshares with His folks (we went to Hawaii recently on there timeshare and the family used our OKW last year) so we could all stay on property and in the same unit.
Hubby and I ended up in the smaller of the 2 upstairs rooms. But, its a little cramped compared to the other upstairs room, but wasnt bad for us... 2 double beds, a 3 door closed (if memory serves) full bathroom, tv, nightstand, I think there were even some drawers.
The other room upstairs is larger with the same basic stuff just queen beds, and more floor space.
We had ample room, but werent in the villa that much.

Have a great time.

Hi Geebs,

We've stayed in a GV several times and I feel sure that the both rooms upstairs had queen size beds. We always stay in buildings #23 thru #26, which may be the difference like Dennis said.

Ask your parents to call member services. If there are GV's with queen size beds in each room, they can request one of these rooms. No harm in asking.

Our OKW GV authority Richyams can give us the lowdown on this I'm sure!

As I said earlier, I have stayed in seven different Grand Villas. Most recently in one of those in the 21-26 area. I remember that one having two double beds. I am positive that many had the double beds. I am pretty sure that they all did. I am trying to think back to my first stay, I remember that I wasn't even aware that the rooms upstairs were different sizes until the second Monday and my guest was relieved to be able to take the bigger room after putting the kids in the smaller room.

I don't think I actually realized that the beds were different till my second or third stay. Once I realized that, each and every GV had the smaller beds in the smaller bedroom. So I can't say positively that my first or second stay rooms didn't have all queens. Since my last stay was in the 21-26 area and it definitely had two doubles, I would pretty confidently say that they all have two double beds in the third room.
