Hi Ladies - I've been MIA for a while but have a trip coming soon and really need some help..

My DD's HS softball team is heading to Disney 4/7-14/2012 and one of the things they like to do on the bus and plane is color Disney stuff.. I was thinking I'd like to make them Autograph books with Disney characters to color in on the way there - they can personalize them however they like .. I thought I'd purchase MYO boardbooks size 8x8 from Oriental Trading Co. each book has a total of 6 usable pages and 1 front cover and 1 back cover (3 for 5.99 and I need 15) then somehow find coloring pages of 5 -10 characters per book (and a blank page just for extra signatures)I could shrink down and print out then paste on the 8x8 pages (of course each page will have a piece of 8x8 paper to which i'd glue the character on leaving room for a signature) I just am having a hard time wraping my head around how to get this done easily and quickly for 15 girls.. oh and the thing is I do not have a computer at home - so I have to sneak on from work but I sit right by the printer..

I am guessing if I pick a total of like 24 characters and mix and match 8 per book that would be good and not everyone would get the same ones so they would be more unique and leave a blank page for extra signatures and a journal page for them to document the trip. I do plan on putting each girls name on the front covers with the dates of the trip.

am I making this more complicated then I need to?? any advise or helpful suggestions are welcome..

Thanks Michelle

I would make sure Everyone got Mickey & Minnie in their books (maybe different poses)

google free Disney coloring book pages - their are several sites

which parks are they going too?? any character meals?? you would want to use ones that they can find in the parks easy

An option that might be easier for you would be to use 8.5"x11" white cardstock. Print out 2 pictures on each page. Cut page in middle and take the bunch to Kinkos to have them bound. They can give you a hard cover if you want (which will protect the books). If you don't get the hard cover (or even if you do), you can send kids with a small clipboard to make it sturdier when they are coloring the pages & when the characters sign them. If you have the timel a nice gift bag would be a the book, an altered clipboard (examples on this board & google under images), and colored pencils/ markers.

Well I ended up with 4x6 photo albums that hold 24 pictures -- I figure I'll put the autograph card with the character on the top and a matching photo mat on the bottom pages and they will just have to slide them in and out of the photo sleeve to have them signed with a sharpie. then when they get home they can add the photos they took on the trip - I am also going to leave a few pages for journalling (i'll mat some lined creative memory paper for them) Thanks for your advise. Michelle

Yeah! Glad you figured out your plan. It took me FOREVER to figure out HOW we were going to do ours (6 books with appx 60 characters plus a few blanks). THEN I had to make our passports & of course none of them could be the same either.

We did the photo album, too (100 pics) for 3 of our books. To make it easier for the characters to sign & not drop the photo, we had a paperclip (sturdier black kind for more papers) attached to one side of the book and we would slip the autograph card on top of the book & under the paperclip.

OH wow great idea - I have those black clip things at work, I'll grab a bunch and attach one to each book!
do you have any pictures to share of the ones you made?

I don't have any pictures of the books themselves, but I will try to take some to post on here.

You might even consider a having the character sign with the sharpie directly on the page protector of that 4x6 album --- then the pics they get of the characters can go directly behind the autograph.
