Trying to plan a spur of the moment trip for late February. Thought I had it all figured out to stay at Coronado Springs and take advantage of the Kids Play Free deal.

Now DH wants to find out if we can a better deal by staying off site and paying for the kids tickets. Can someone help me figure this all out??? If we stay off site, we need a nice hotel (not plush but I want a good, clean place).

Details; Me, DH and two DD's (8 and 9). We will be driving down so we will have our own car. We absolutely must have a place that has a great pool with a slide or some other fun feature. Need a small fridge in room if possible but we can bring a cooler. We will be in parks for 5 days so we need 6 nights.

I just want to get an idea of pricing for a good hotel. I really hope you all can help as I am getting frustrated at all the choices outside the world. :headache:

Look on http://www.wyndham-vacations.com to see if anything matches your dates. They have been running a sale on Orlando vacations.

Look on ebay travel. You can get great deals on there. Wyndham Bonnet Creek is a great place to stay.

Look on skyauction.com for more Orlando deals.

Hi,

We debated the same thing last year. We had stayed previously at Wilderness Lodge and loved it but it was way too pricey for Spring Break. We stayed at the Villas at Caribe Royal. They have a pool with a slide. Very clean, very comfortable beds. If you spring for a villa you get a kitchen, washer/dryer, mom and dad private room (very nice) and the villas have their own small pool. The caribe has a once a day sale and I was able to get a very nice place for a very nice price. An easy, short ride to Disney (can't remember but I think about five minutes). Another benefit of the Villa is the ability to prepare some of your own meals which saves time, money and calories.

Good Luck!

I am hoping for some feedback and appreciate all your wisdom here on these boards.

I have a ressie for AP rate for 1 BR at OKW for 15 nights = 4300.

I also have a ressie for Caribe Royale for 1 BR king deluxe room = 2683.20

I have an AP and I THINK you don't pay for parking in the parks if you have one. If so, then I am undecided and need to cancel one of these ressies soon to avoid penalty. Does anyone know if Caribe Royale is comprable to OKW? We stayed at OKW in 1 bedroom last year and loved it. DH is worried Caribe won't have enough room for all 3 of us.

Please give me your opinion. It is myself, DD and DS (14yo) Hate to give up the magic but times are tough and we would be saving 1617.

Check out the Hilton Bonnet Creek on lastminutetravel.com. They have rates in February from $97 a night which is a great rate for that hotel. Put in your dates for Orlando and it will come up as 4.5 star hotel from $95 per night. It will have in the description luxury accomdations, 1001 rooms, etc. You can also look at the photos to confirm it's the right hotel. They have a fabulous pool and are surrounded on 3 sides by the Parks & other Disney resorts. Just about as close as you can get without staying in a Disney Hotel. Good luck!

I would stay at the Caribe in a minute for that savings. There should be plenty of room for three of you. You won't have a full kitchen like you have at OKW but for that savings you can eat out! :cool1: You do not have to pay for parking with AP. You are really close to parks at this hotel too. Nice hotel, you can't go wrong! :thumbsup2

Here is what I found out for our upcoming vacation, which I haven't booked yet.
This is for our family of 6.

Bonnett Creek
5/6-5/13
2BR 675.00(estimate)
MiniVan 410.61
Parking in
Parks for 8
days 112.00(14/day)
6-7 day
base tkts 1,442.70
------------------------------------
2,640.31
-or-

All Stars Music Family Suite
wth the kids play and stay deal

----------------------------------
2,798.35

A difference of $158

So....do we want to stay off site or on???? That is the question....because the price is not so different.
If I consider that we could do more cooking at Bonnett Creek then it may be a better option.....but we love disney transportation, and getting picked up by ME, and not driving while we are on vacation....I think Bonnett Creek is beautiful from all the pictures I have seen...probably nicer than ASMu but....
it's a tough call.
