Need some help deciding??????

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The family and I only get to do Dinsey every 2 years. Our last trip was in June of 05. We had a wonderful time even with the fact that it rained for at least a half hour everyday. It was never too hot or unbearable at any time.
The lines were long on most of the favorite rides but we expected that and didn't let it stop us. If we wanted to go on the ride we waited.
Now with the fact that free dinning may be offered in late August- September and last time we were there we had it but paid full rate I think we would really save a ton if we went at that time.(If its offered that is)
If its not offered I was thinking October would be a nice time to go this time around. I've read that the crowds aren't too bad and the weather is near perfect. Being from the Jersey shore anything above 70 is a beautiful day to us. We are a family of 7 and we get 2 rooms in the all stars. We love the water parks so we do that as well. If we went in October we would still do dinning but pay for it. I have figured we would be saving somewhere in the range of 1,000 bucks if we were to go in Aug or Sept with the free dinning.
The thing is this, I have heard that the heat is out of this world and that there are these crazy Love bigs everywhere!
As I said we don't get there very offend and I would hate to go and have the trip ruined because of the bugs and heat.
My children are 17,15,14,13,and 9. Just so you can factor that in.
So the question ...... Is the savings worth putting up with the heat and bugs? Are they really that bad? Anyone been there both times (Aug- Sept or Oct)which do you like better?
I know the big question is money and what I can offered but honestly if I will have a better experience in October then I really don't mind spending the extra cash and paying for dinning.

Thanks all for your help.

Well, October is a LITTLE cooler than August and September, but not much IMO! I, personally, have never had a trip ruined by the love bugs, and we have been at all times of the year. Anytime that most kids are out of school the crowds will be heavier at least somewhat, so October should be lower crowds. Do you take your teens out of school? Wow, that must be hard! We are praying for free food too, so I can't help you there, if money is no object just go when it best suits your family.

We went at the end of Aug/beginning of Sept 2006 and it was too hot for bugs!! The love bugs weren't out then (maybe May???). It is very hot and humid, so if you can stand being steamed and poached each day you are good to go. The crowds were nominal at this time, so it made the heat and threatening thunderstorms that much more bearable. It is still hurricane season, so check out how many storms are expected this year!

If you choose October, there is also MNSSHP and Food & Wine Fest.

We have been in September - it was so hot and humid! The heat and humidity were much worse than the love bugs imo. I would choose to go in October - maybe the heat would not be as bad. We are from NC and we are used to heat and humidity but I don't think I have ever experienced 100 degree heat and 100% humidity and the sun shining all at once as we did that September.
