Hi,
I have 2 questions:
1. Does anyone know if Disney will let you rent a EVC & wheelchair before the park opens? we have 8:10am ADR for the CP at the MK,and that day the MK opens at 9am. Mom & Dad don't need one all the time, they are OK getting on/off the Disney Buses, just run out of steam quick. So renting one from off property is not a option they are interested in.
2. Does PoP Century have wheelchairs to use while on the resort property...NOT to take off site, just to use to get around the resort? We did book a perfered room (hope that helps some) but still...
Any info on both appriciated!!:worship:

1. Yes you can rent W/C and ECV at MK when you go to your early breakfast.

2. Yes you can get a W/C at Pop. They are on a first come bases. Remember however that sometimes these are not alway in the best condition.

This is from WDW website:

Walt Disney World® Resorts:
A limited number of wheelchairs are available at each Resort for Walt Disney World® Resort Guests. Contact Guest Services or the Front Desk for assistance. A $315 deposit will be held on the Guest room account, charged only if the wheelchair is not returned. Guests wishing to guarantee the use of a wheelchair throughout their stay should contact local area rental companies to make arrangements

Agreeing with the other poster.

Some people have posted that the wheelchair they were able to get loaned at their resort was not the best condition and others have posted it was not an appropriate size. Some posted that the resort got a better or better sized wheelchair, but it could take a few hours to a few days.
Also, the information that Carnator posted from the WDW website used to also be in the printed copies you can get at the parks. The most recent Guidebooks for Guests with Disabilities I have (printed 1/08) says,
"Walt Disney World Resorts also offer wheelchair rentals to their Guests. Quantities may be limited. Please contact the Front Desk for assistance."

So, if you plan to get one from the resort, I would suggest you also take along the contact information for one or more of the off-site rental companies, just in case. There are companies listed in post #2 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread.

Also, if they need a wheelchair or ECV later in the day, when they 'run out of steam', but would be OK for the walk to your ADR, you could wait until after you are done eating.
It is usually not a problem to get a wheelchair later in the day (and you would still be talking about morning; in rare busy times if they run out, it's late in the day). ECVs may or may not be available because they are in more limited quantity, but even ECVs should be available still until 10 am.
