hi everyone need some good thoughts today. onmay 3rd i had a salivary stone removed. it was very large, well since then i have been through nothing but pain ,and misery. last friday i sat and cried all day because i was sure that i was going to feel like this for the rest of my life. my mouth was so swollen that i could barley open it i have a mouth full of stitches, and right now they feel tight and are pulling on the skin , and on top of it we leve for disney in a little less the 2 weeks. so please tell me things will in fact get better:sad2::scared:

Prayers that your healing time shortens and you will be FINE for your trip. :littleangel:

God bless...

I am sorry you are going through so much pain. When you are in the midst of it, healing seems so slow. Hopefully, everyday, things will get a little bit better. And, before you know it, you'll be at Disney! And, the best part? That stone doesn't get to go with you. HA!!

It just plain sucks to be in pain. My mom has had salivary stones removed but I don't remember how long the recovery. It will get better and better esp. because you are going to Disney:banana:

It will get better! I get salivary stones a lot and after my last surgery it took about 3 weeks to get back to normal. Follow up with the doctor to make sure there's no infection. I had some pain but not as much after the surgery as before.

DS had one removed but we were so lucky that it ended up popping out on its own with the help of the oral surgeon. No cutting needed.

I always worry that it will come back and require more intervention.

Relax, try to take it easy, has your dr told you to rinse at all? Maybe that would help? Sending quick healing vibes.

Sending you a BIG koala cuddle from 'down under' and I hope that you will be feeling better soon.:grouphug:

Good vibes coming your way :goodvibes
I hope you feel better soon. Hopefully the recovery will speed up for you. Don't wait too long to call the doctor if you don't feel right. Hopefully you can relax and think about your wonderful trip to Disney and you will be there having fun before you know it :wizard:

thanks so much to all of you. i knew i could find what i need here. the dr kind of left me to my own devices here. he said when i asked that he wouldnt need to see me again that recovery should ne uneventful, and i can't say that it has or hasn't because i have never been through this before. the one thing i remember him saying was that it was deep and had grown into the surrounding tissue. i have had it for years the other thing i gut out of it was a numb tonge i have't spoke to them yet but i guess i knew going into this it could happen they say it can take two months for the feeling to come back please pray that it does. i'am doing salt water rinses to ward off infection and take the swelling down hopeing that works. one other thing has anyone had stitches especially in their mouthes? when they feel like they are getting tighter does that mean things are healing ? i have never done any of this before so i'am lost. thanks everyone you are the best unseen friends anyone could have:)

I was going to say "try rinsing your mouth with salt water", but it sounded so simple and I didn't want to make your situation seem that way. My Mom always says to do that - if you have a sore throat, canker sore, etc. use the good ol' salt water rinse.

Did you say that you called the Dr. or not? You should follow up with them as they may want you to come in for a quick look to make sure things look like they should. Don't take any chances.

The only time I have had stitches in my mouth was when I had my wisdom teeth surgically removed and they were the kind that dissolved on their own.

I hope you feel better soon!:wizard:
