Need some DVC Cheering Up...and opinions?

I'm with Carol on this one.

Sorry for your bad surprise. Feeling depressed is no fun. I am sure you learned some lesson you don't need anyone to explain to you.

Hope switching to monthly payments solves your immediate issue. Otherwise, hope you find a way to solve it. Good luck.

I also have my dues deducted monthly. Question . . . Do the dues remain the same for the life of the membership?

No they don't, but I don't have the historical chart handy. I'll bet Doc or Crisi has it handy and will post in a while though.

They usually go up every year. Occasionally they go down, but for the most part, they go up. Since we joined in 1997, the dues have gone from about $2.75 a point to about $4.50 a point. You can pretty much expect them to go up a bit every year.

Thanks for all the advice!! Yeah, I just really stretched it this time of year... I should have cut back on Christmas and I didn't... But, we have always saved, saved, saved, and this past year, we have really spent $$$. We bought DVC (which we have been considering purchasing since 1997, and saved for a long time) & a new car (which we don't need...). I am working an extra 12 hours this week at work for some overtime $$$. And, I am going to work some overtime next, too and that should pay our dues and not get into our Disney trip money (at least I hope so...). Again, thanks for all the advice & support!!

:confused3 geesh....I just needed to vent a little. I didn't think it was that big of a deal:confused: ??? I could go on and on, but I won't because I have gotten alot of help on the boards, and I did enjoy:cloud9: coming here daily.

Don't feel you have to justify why you can't pay dues by 2/15 out of your pocket. My husband left the Navy and started a new job this year...one that is slow to get going. We are also expecting a baby. Last week we decided to to set up the montly dues payment. We didn't want to but figured it was better then using a credit card. It must be nice for the PP to have something in savings but I don't think that's a reality for a lot of people. That doesn't mean that I should have to cancel my two upcoming Disney trips. We will make it work like we always do..life is too short. Sounds like you have a great year of trips coming up..enjoy your DVC. We just bought in this past year as well and don't regret it!! :goodvibes :goodvibes
