So, here is my sob story.. Trust me when I say itll have disney theming. Been dating this gal for 10 months now.. About 2 months ago we planned a trip to disney world. About one month ago she wants to to change the dates due to some very strange reasons?? (shes going to miss a volleyball class she takes??) So 200 dollars later we are on for late August.. I get a great hotel rate. I am excited and planning with everyone here. If you search my name on the theme park boards you would see my numerous posts to plan (no need to do this).. Few weeks ago she starts acting sketchy.. Ill spare you all the details but lets just say Sketchy is the perfect description. Then yesterday drops the bomb.. wants to cancel our trip.. Reason: She is not financially stable eneough, and she MAY want to quit her job and MAY get a new job where she wont have vacation time. All the while she is scheduling thousands of dollars in VERY optional (hair removal treatment) which isnt really even needed..

anyway guys im crushed.. I had put alot of mental and physical energy into this trip and to watch it fall apart is devestating. I love WDW, and I want each and every one of you that are able to go this year to have a little extra fun for me..

Can you afford the trip by yourself? If so, go without her. Can a buddy of yours come up with some money and go with you? I realize it won't be the same as being with your girlfriend, but you'll have fun either way.

Don't cancel! Go without her! Go with a friend if you can. And make her pay you back for any fees you incur because of the switch.

I'm serious. She sounds like she is only thinking of herself and does not appreciate what you were trying to do.

I am so sorry someone is doing this to you.

Go without her. Sounds like you might have more fun, anyway. Find a friend or family member to go with you, or do a solo trip and meet up with some DIS people.

I say go anyway if you can. Find a friend to go with you if you don't want to do it yourself.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am planning to try to go with my ol Disney Buddy (6+ trips together), he will be available in about 5 months (start of new job, no vacation).

I gave fleeting thoughts to going alone.. but that would put a hurting on my wallet.

Id say try to go with someone else too. My cousin did this to me several years ago. I started my job in August and by Jan was wasking one of my co-workers to go with me instead. Turned out great. We have now been 3 times together and loves Disney almost more than I do. Good Luck.

I understand what you're going through. I just had someone do the same to me. See below!! Go for it and have a blast! Find out who will be there at the same time and make some new friends.

anyone going 21-26 August?? The funny thing is after changing the dates ($200) and then cancelling the flight, ($400) she is going to be out $600 which is more than the trip would have costed her from the getgo if everything went smooth (I was going to pay for airfare and park tickets for both of us).

Thanks all you guys for your great thoughts and understanding.. Its good to see this has happened to others. haha well not GOOD but good..

Maybe later ill start a seperate thread on the formentioned "sketchy" behavior. :). .
