I ordered a 10" cake for my mom's 70th birthday from the GF bakery today.party:

I don't want to take away from the "WOW" factor of doing that for her by having

two more birthday cakes delivered to us at restaurants for my sons birthdays

later in the week. Besides, while on the DDP we will have dessert with each

meal so I don't always want to be eating dessert and then trying to find room

for cake. Here are some of the ideas I have come up with but would love to

consider your ideas: Use our counter service credits for breakfast one day

and then instead of eating lunch go to Beaches and Cream or Ghirardelli and

order the Kitchen Sink or the Earthquake (assuming Ghirardelli still has this). I

think we are not giving presents--just birthday cards with Disney Dollars,

etc.--so that is easy to take along for the "party". The other idea I had was

to pick up a refrigerated cake from our resort's food court and have a little

celebration in the food court at an "off" (non-crowded) time. Any more ideas?

Oh, yeah... there will be seven of us at one party and nine at the other

son's party.

There are so many neat things you could do for a simple birthday at Disney.
you didnt mention what resturants you are eating at but if you have plans for Coral Reef you could do the Diver he will hold a sign that says HAPPY BIRTHDAY or any message you want to add to it. you can also get personalized menus that you can add pictures of the boys and a message to them. (I did this for my wedding anniversary it was very nice) You can call the coral reef resturant and ask for a manager to set it up..

Another Idea would be a scavenger hunt you could do it at one of the parks and being you are giving them money you might be able to give them a little bit of money in several cards rather than one amount in one card. Or when you are having them a party at the resort you could send them around the resort looking for clues. you could break them into teams and send them off.

Hope this helps

...another ice cream place would be The Plaza

...Winter Summerland and Fantasia Gardens Minature Golf offer birthday packages that used to be about $17 a person

...Polynesian, Yacht & Beach and Boardwalk have parties, but are more expensive...$250/$300 range

...Do they like video games? How about 1/2 hour of video games at each of the Monorail line resorts ending with Dole Whips at the Polynesian? Or ice cream at the Main Street Ice Cream Parlour?

bumping up for the morning crowd:cheer2:

BTW, I am really not looking to put on a "party". Our group IS the party! I am just looking for a place to have a birthday treat--where we can sit somewhere and have a huge ice cream or cake treat. Thanks!

Any chance you will be dining at RFC? The volcano dessert is great for a bday! It comes with a sparkler on top and the wait staff yelling vol-ca-no as they bring it out. We were just eating at the Rainforest in our hometown recently and DD4 thought that everyone getting a volcano was having a birthday since she had one for hers!

Have a fun trip!!!!!!!!

What about getting a table outside of the Boardwalk Bakery? You can watch the ferrys come and go.
