Hi!

I am a long time lurker and first time poster to these boards. This place has such a wealth of information and I love reading here.

We are AP holders and travel to Disney about twice a year. We went earlier this year and stayed at the Poly. We all fell in love with that resort and wanted to stay there again.

Last week, I was pricing resorts with AP discounts for the fall and Poly concierge came up for what I consider to be a good price. I booked a GV concierge room for a week in September.

Anyway, we have never stayed on the concierge level before and I wondered what to expect? I had read about pre-planning services, but I haven't received any contact from the resort yet. I did try to contact them through an e-mail address I got off this board, but it keeps showing back in my e-mail box as undelivered. :confused3

We are going to be celebrating my DH's birthday and I wanted to see if they could help me get a cake or something.

Any help would be appreciated! :flower3:

I can't help much with your questions since we've never stayed Poly CL, but I wanted to say :welcome: to the DIS.....it's a great place to be and you'll get LOTS of great info :disrocks:. Have fun and happy planning   .

Disney has setup a Cake "Hotline" you can contact them at 407-827-2253.

I'll be staying on the Atrium Level at the CR this August - I received the above number from the CR Concierege CMs. Hope this helps!

Kayli,

Welcome to Disboards! :welcome:

You can either call the IPO office or send them an email (make sure you include your reservation #). Here's the info:

Walt Disney World Itinerary Planning Office
Phone: (407) 824-2466
Fax: (407) 824-3162
Polynesian.Itinerary.Planning@disneyworld.com

They can book your dining reservations and assist with any special requests you might have. :thumbsup2

If you haven't checked out the Polynesian FAQ thread yet, here's the link:

There's a thread on this board called Useful Concierge Info or something similar. There is alot of great information about concierge services there, and also on the official Polynesian thread.

I would suggest calling the IPO office and introducing yourself to them. That will get them started in trying to help you plan for your vacation. They are supposed to initiate contact with you, but in reality reservations fall through the cracks. We always give them a head's up when we make our reservations and they seem happy to help!

Have a great vacation!:goodvibes

We spent our first (and what we thought at the time would be our only) time on property at the Poly on concierge level and lagoon view (it was awesome by the way). We LOVED it!!!! Concierge level offered so much in extras. I am certain they would help you get a cake. There was a lounge specifically for concierge guests that had food all the time - enough to really make meals off it. There were soft drinks available at no charge and juices in bottles - both of which one could carry out. At breakfast there was a full continental spread with lots of fresh fruit. During the day they changed what was available, but there was almost always something. Anything we needed, they took care of for us. In fact at MGM we had an ADR at 50's Prime Time and were on a special dining package. When we first walked in they told us they didn't know if they could honor that package there. Not knowing there would be a problem or what we should do, my husband simply asked if they would mind calling the concierge at the Poly and asking if we had misunderstood. They asked him to repeat what he said, and when he did, the answer was something along the lines of, "Oh Sir, we won't need to do that. We'll be happy to honor it for you." We really thought we had misunderstood the guidelines of our package and just wanted to ask (we are rule followers and wouldn't want to take advantage of something) but they insisted we didn't need to place that call. We had robes in our room for all 4 of us. They gave us parking permit at the guard house that had our name on it, met us at the valet witha golf cart to take us and our luggage to a special check-in area, gave us special leis, made all our dining plans that we had left - the ones we had not been able to get ourselves, and made sure we knew they were available for whatever we wanted or needed. They were fantastic. I have stayed in 5 star hotels in Europe - some of the best - and the service we got there was equal if not better than any of those places. Enjoy your stay!
