Need some clever ideas......

We wanted to wait a bit before telling anyone IRL that I am preggo........ just to make sure things are okay.... BUT it is killing us not sharing the news....... Plus we have a huge family party this Saturday for Ozo's (dh) father... it is his 80th birthday. We thought a nice gift for him would be to announce the impedding arrival of his 10th grandchild.

It is getting harder and harder to explain my major illness to everyone. They all think I am dying! LOL SO we gotta spill the beans!

We are looking for a cute and novel way to share our news............ any thoughts???

My SIL and her husband announced their 2nd pregnancy with a flyer/handout at a family barbeque. It was laid out like one of those word Jumbles in the paper. The answer (once you got all the words unscrambled) was XXXXXX's Pregnant!

It was really cute seeing different groups of people 'get' the answer.

Get him a gift that is baby-oriented in nature...baby booties or a thing that says "Grandpa" on it. Or give him a calendar with a little clue written in poem form on each month and on the page that is the month when you are due, put the announcement.

Maybe a frame with all the granchildren's pictures matted and framed. Have one blank one with "under construction" or something?

How about a newspaper? Articles about things going on with different members of the family. Of course the birthday could be part of it. Then something about the baby.

Thats a good idea... like a grandpas brag book or something and if you have a sonogram picture you could stick that in it as the first picture or if you don't you could put a 3 x 5 card that says Coming Soon Baby XXXXXXX and put your due date... Awwwwwwww

Whew!! I'm glad you finally made this official!! I saw a day or two ago that you mentioned being PG but, I hadn't read anything prior so, I kept quiet. Now that the info is DIS public, I just want to say CONGRATULATIONS!!! PINK OR BLUE, MAY YOUR WISH COME TRUE!!

No ideas for Grandpa on such short notice but, wanted to share in your happiness.

I have given "Grandparent Remembers" books.

A Granda Photo album or bib are also a great ideas.
