Need some car advice

So we've only ever rented from National @ MCO, however rates are RIDICULOUS. I can get a decent rate from Dollar. Can I get some positive, negatives, opinions. THanks so much!

I have never rented a car from Dollar but do have a reservation for May. Everyone that has posted, that I have read, has not had a problem with them.

kcork, we rented from the Dollar located at the Grosvenor across from DTD this past Christmas/New Year's and we had no problems. Got a great rate and the car was exactly what the website said it would be (Dodge Magnum). Car was clean and in great shape and the service at the counter was great. The only thing I would caution if you do use the Grosvenor location is that it's basically a one-person operation. So when that person takes a lunch, there's no one there. However, if you're renting from the airport location, I don't think you'll run into this problem.

we have never rented from dollar so I can't tell you anything about that, but I will suggest you keep trying national. Try different codes at different times of day. I was looking last year and I couldn't believe how expensive it was. I just kept trying every couple of days at different times of day and using different code combos and finally got a great rate.

We rented from dollar back in 2002 and had no problems. I do suggest you join their loyalty program to speed up the process.

If Dollar has the lowest rate, go with Dollar. I have rented from Budget, Dollar, National and Alamo. The first three all provide the same good service. Alamo I would avoid, even though they are now owned by National.
