Need Some AKV Waitlist Advice

ok heres some hope for you. we own at SSR and called at the 11 month window to reserve from dec 6 to dec 12, taking a 1 br in order to at least have a room. at the 7 month window (wednesday) i called and tried to switch anywhere, only to find that the only thing avail was OKW. we said nah, been there, would love BLT (yea ok) or BWV. We called again thurs n fri, still nothing avail, but several days were now open at AKV, but not a full week. I said dump the BLT WL, and agreed to wl a 1br at kildani. I logged into my dvc account today and poof! my SSR ressie was gone, and a 1br at Kildanai was there. There is hope, just be patient!!

So I made ressies the 29Nov-4Dec for a 2 bdrm, Savannah view at Kindani back in March, but I think we want to stay at wilderness lodge villa 2 bedroom for our december trip as I think it would feel more "chrismassy" so I called today and am waitlisted at WLV, now for the question....My waitlist is for 29NOV-04DEC, can I have another waitlist for 6DEC-11DEC at WLV? that is the week I would prefer. Thanks

It depends. You can have 2 active waitlists per use year. If you only have one waitlist for the 29Nov-4Dec then you can place another for 6DEC-11DEC. So, if you only waitlisted for a 2 bedroom lock-off or a dedicated 2 bedroom at VWL then you can waitlist for the same on the other time period.

Lisa, you are right, I called MS and am waitlisted for VWL 6-11 Dec, and 29Nov-4 Dec, the CM said which ever one comes through first will cancel out the other and my AKV ressie. I just asked for a 2bdrm, didn't specify lock off or dedicated.. But thanks for your reply, either way we are going down to see the Christmas decorations this year.....:cool1: Alex

I spoke with MS this morning about ressies at AKV for this December 5-12. Looking for either a studio or one-bedroom (any view). There is no availability for that week at AKV (in fact, there is no availability that week at BLT, WLV, BCV, BWV either). I have a one-bedroom ressie at OKW.

I am waitlisted at AKV but MS told me that I had to choose not only what size unit (one-bedroom), but also which building (Kidani or Jambo) and which view (standard or savanah). This really appears to limit my options. Since AKV is considered one resort, I would have thought that a waitlist request for a one-bedroom would get me either Kidani or Jambo (that I wouldn't have to choose). Same is true for the view. Is this the proper waitlist protocol for AKV?

In addition, given the above, what would you choose to maximize chances for success? Clearly standard view is less desirable, but how about Kidani v. Jambo? On one hand, Kidani has more units, but it's newer and may attract more waitlist activity. Thoughts? Thanks!

Ok looks like there is more pp on the waitlist for the times we are also going. We are also on the waitlist for AKV for 12/6-11 (5 nts) and we are also booked in SSR. It appears to me there is a slim chance our waitlist will come through :(. At least we have a resv to go to WDW for the times we are going (looking on the bright side!).
