Need some advent suggestions...

I recently purchased two wooden advent calendars. I found a cute one for children that had drawers and a nice cottage house for me that has doors that open (they say it's like the one on National Lampoons Xmas vacation). I must have missed that in the show, but it's awesome.

Anyway, I couldn't decide on one so I bought both. My DD can keep hers when she grows up and moves out and I can still have mine until I pass away.

Anway, I'm looking for some suggestions on what to put in the drawers/doors. I thought about:

* Candy
* Disney Dollars

Does anyone have any suggestions? If you use a wooden advent calendar, what do you fill it with?

We have a calendar--and we have a special advent tree..the days go right on the tree. They are little story books.

Depends--are you trying to do gifts or really speak to the season. How about a combination of both--wrap a story in a Disney dollar, so DD gets her trinket gift plus a story on Advent.

They show the Advent calendar through the movie as they transition from a major scene to the next. I'm surprised with all the destruction in the movie that the Advent Calendar was maintained . They must have had it in a safe room in the house .

It's not the actual advent calendar from the movie, but apparently people were wondering where they could find one designed like it.

I was searching online and found this style and fell in love. Next to the description it stated "if your looking for the advent calendar like the one in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, this is the closest one we've ever seen." I've never noticed it in the movie. Guess when it comes on TV this year, I'll have to be looking for it.

I just really liked the style and look of it. Formal, elegant, house. Too cute for me to pass up.

Thanks for your suggestions. I was looking for advent stories online as well to put stories in the drawers/doors. It was hard to find short stories...
