Hello! I'm looking for ideas or what others have done regarding washing dishes in the hotel sink - or somewhere else. We're heading to WDW in October and we're staying at the Contemporary. We'll have our 9 month old daughter with us and will be using bottles during our 5 night stay.

I've washed some dishes in the really shallow bathroom sinks at CR and it is a pain! I'm hoping you all can help with a better solution since I will have 4-5 bottles to wash every night.

Background: we will have tommie tippy bottles and formula canisters. We are placing an amazon order for diapers, baby food and the like, so I'm ok with ordering something from there if needed.

Thank you!

My suggestion (and what we did when staying at Gr CA in reg hotel room with only bathroom sinks):
Buy a large, cheap basin - here is an example. You can have shipped or pack things around it in your suitcase. I put some soap in, used the bathtub to fill it up, and then put on bathroom counter. Washed in the basin, rinsed in the bathroom sink running water. Then, for added measure, I used a Medela sanitizer bag in the downstairs microwave to make sure all soap and other contaminants were off.

Hope that gives some ideas.

We've always just brought a small bottle of soap and a bottle brush. If the sink is too shallow you could use the tub.

Or drop in liners.

We just used the regular sink, brought a brush and a small travel bottle of dishwashing soap and rince thorougly. The tommie tippy are so easy to clean ! But you could order the white dishpan if you really hate the sink. They sell them at dollar store too.

It is not necessary to sanitize the bottle, especially at 9 months, but if you do it at home I would do it on your trip... just not to upset your baby tummy.

We got our daughter use to water too, if you havent done that yet.

I've washed my resort mug in the sink in the room.
It was not too big of a pain.
just bring a little bottle of dish soap, a bottle brush and turn on the hot water.
I would not try to soak anything just put a drop of soap in each bottle, add a bit of hot water, and use the bottle brush then rinse.

What we did when we needed to sterilise bottles on holiday was have an inflatable ice bucket, and milton tablets. Then, we could fill the bucket with the right amount of water, and the tablet and leave them over night / as long as needed.

Oh, I've been there. I just brought soap and a bottle brush and washed the bottles in the bathtub.

we are just back from a 6 day trip with 4 month old granddaughter and her family daughter pumped and bottle feed most times. we washed bottles in sink and air dried folding bottle drier

Another choice is to buy the ready to feed bottles. You simply un-cap a bottle, add a nipple top, and feed and toss. Some come with nipple lids and others don't so worse case would be washing just nibble lids. You could have a case of them shipped to your resort. Not every type formula is available but it is worth looking into.

Was just there with my 11 month old, washed 5 bottles a day plus our cups and her sippy cup. We brought a brush and sponges and dish soap, there were no issues. We don't sterilize, but can you microwave a cup of water and toss the nipples in? We had to travel out of state a lot recently because my MIL was sick and passed away, we were able to clean the bottles in the shallowest of sinks. It was a pain, but doable.

We cut sponges in 4 pieces, soak in dish detergent and then let them dry. That saved us from carrying dish detergent with us.

If you prefer to wash the bottles in a basin you can buy a collapsible one - easier for packing/traveling. Then just use the sink for rinsing. Also, you can try the paper towels that have detergent in them rather than bringing liquid detergent. We always pack a small dish drying mat to place our mugs on once they're washed.

We just used a little brush and some soap (not sure it was even dish soap...I might have used shampoo??). Who knows. My kid survived.
