Need screen room recommendations please!

We're buying a new tent for this fall, it's an upgrade to our current tent (the new one we're buying has an electrical port and two a/c ports) but has no screen porch. I want to purchase a screen room , with floor (that part is necessary) and big bonus if there's a way to attach it to a standard tent. Does anyone know of such a thing or have a recommendation?

Loopy,

I'm in the market for a new screen room too so your thread caught my attention.

I've seen plenty of tents that COME WITH a screen room attached as part of a tent but not an add-on to a separate tent. I guess the tent you have your heart set on with the electrical port and ac ports isn't available with a screen room. I've seen tent attachments for the backs of Suburbans and pick-ups but those aren't screen rooms.

What time of year are you planning to be at the Fort? Bugs aren't too bad but if you're there mid-October onward you should be okay. The Fort sprays year round but I'm sure during the warmer humid months there are still some bugs around.

I'm going camping in South Florida after Christmas and want a screen room to protect from the no-seeums that are out at dusk that time of year. I'm in a pop-up so there isn't much room inside and truth be told I'd rather be outside to start with.

Good luck in your search.

Hi, Bama Ed! Well, I need the screen and floor less for bugs and more to keep the critters in. Now, some people seem to get upset that I travel with my cats in a tent . I'm aware Ft Wilderness doesn't allow them in tents. Anyway, when we sit outside in the evening/morning to eat or just chill out, it would be nice if they could come out and hang out with us. Our current tent has a floored, screen room attached, but it is going on 13 years old, has side doors that are awkward, no electrical port or a/c vents. If I could find a large cabin tent with the floored screen room as well as the new features we really want, I'd grab it up. The one we're getting is the Ozark Trail 20x10 instant tent. If it just had the screen room, it would be perfect.

Can't really help on the screen room but we have a 20x10 instant set up ozark trail tent....wonder if it's the same one. If it is we LOVE it!!!

I think it's a tall order to try and get an "Add On" screen room that "ATTACHES" to an existing tent (unless the manufacturer makes one specific to the tent)

I think something like this one https://www.amazon.com/Ozark-Trail-12-Person-Instant-Screen/dp/B00VGELJP4 would be okay and you would be better served by "Adding" the A/C by means of something like the AC Boot http://acboot.com/. I can't imagine an "electrical port" could be a show stopper. Even if it was, I would think it could be a simple matter to add one of those too.

Sorry, I don't know how to resize an image (I did like 10 years ago, can't remember now). Anyway, this is the one we're getting. We were searching forever to find just the right tent. My husband and I agree, this is the one. The ease of set up, the 2 a/c ports (we have 2 a/cs) with one long room for ease of cooling, the ceiling height, the electric port, longer rain fly, being able to have the front and back door open for cross breeze when no a/c needed....we both fell in love. Glad to see y'all love yours! Always good to know when a real person who uses it in Florida agrees :D. BTW, before anyone mentions it, I always use about 5 cans of sealer on my tent because I once flooded a tent at the Fort so now I know better!

Well, now I see why you need a screen room with a floor. The squirrels will likely taunt the cats on the other side of the screen unmercifully because squirrels have a latin rhythm apparently while the cats seems to prefer a jazz beat.

<jk> my weak attempt at humor.

Your tent looks nice and roomy! Glad to know you're on top of watersealing it for the rains that will likely come.
