Our hot water heater sprung a leak and will need to be replaced. My best friend said she heard good things about Lochinvar but I'm looking for any recommendations. TIA!

Looks like a regional brand, you might ask your neighbors if they have had good luck. GE, Rheem, Richmond and Westinghouse are the big water heater brands here. I have a Richmond that is 18 years old. I have had to replace the electric heating elements once, other than that, it has been fine.

Imagine you have already taken care of the issue, most people would have within a few hours.

If not, first it makes a difference of how it is powered. Natural gas, electric?

Rheem is the premier brand, but there are others. If it were me, I would go for the Marathon by Rheem. I have two friends, both journeymen plumbers and both give Marathon top of the heap marks.
