need recommendation for meal that will please all us

Ok, I want a table service meal for lunch or early dinner. Here’s the prob, I would love to try something different but my husband is not into new things. He sticks to the basics and my kids are picky also. Can yall recommend somewhere that can please all of us. It doesn’t have to be signature or exotic just something new or diff. No character buffet please- we are already doing those. It can pretty much be anywhere since this will be our “free day”.

Tusker House in AK

It is a buffet but only characters for breakfast.

Hands down it was the BEST meal (buffet and non buffet) of our trip a few years back.

A great balance of new and familiar foods.

I would recommend TH as well.. but I would also add Ohana's for Dinner.. everything is grilled and there is variety.. it is very, very good!

I was going to recommend Tusker House as well. A good combination of exotic and traditonal foods and great desserts. I loved the fruit tart.

If you're up for trying new things, I recommend Boma. It was our favorite buffet on our last WDW visit. There are plenty of "normal" American dishes, but there are also plenty of unusual Indian and African spiced dishes.

If you like a wide variety that will please everyone, I recommend Cape May Cafe. They have an excellent buffet.

It really depends on what you mean by 'picky'. If you mean they prefer meat and potato dishes, I would go with Le Cellier. If you mean something else, definitely elaborate so you can get a better recommendation!

How about 50's Prime Time?We have had two good meals there, food is nice quality but pretty standard things that should cater for those who are picky (fried chicken, pot roast etc) and the atmosphere is really fun!

I see someone already mentioned it, but I was going to say Cape May as well, my husband LOVES it, and it has something for everyone.

I would look at the menu for Chefs de France, Kona & GF Cafe. Also I would think about Sunshine Seasons at Epcot for a CS meal.

My kids are a little picky too. They love the buffets because there is always something that everyone likes. Our favorites are Crystal Palace & Tusker House.

While a buffet like Tusker House offers a nice range of familiar and uncommon dishes, I see you are already doing character buffets, so you might enjoy a sit down table service restaurant.

I would recommend looking at the menus of the table service restaurants on allears.net to see if there's anything you would like to try. Almost every restaurant, no matter how "exotic" or "ethnic" includes some form of steak or chicken. For example, Teppan Edo has meat and vegs grilled in front of you, Marrakesh has beef or chicken shish kebobs, Chefs de France has steak, beef short ribs, and grilled chicken. For many dishes the sauces or herbs or unfamiliar sides can be omitted and it becomes a basic "meat and potatoes" dish for your husband.

I don't know how picky your children are, but most of the children's menus are pretty basic with one or two additional entrees.

Since it's your free day, you probably don't want to use a park ticket just to eat dinner. So, I recommend trying a restaurant outside of the parks.

Kona Cafe is a good recommendation, if your husband likes steak. The kids menu is pretty standard and there's lots of interesting things for you to try. You can even get the sushi from the sushi bar next door. And the Poly is just such a fun resort to visit!

I would also recommend Wolfgang Puck Cafe in Downtown Disney. It seems like it would have a great selection for your whole family.

I haven't eaten at Raglan Road but it also seems like it would work for everyone.

Our favorite meal on our recent trip was The Wave. It can be "Meat and Potatoes" if that's what you like, or they have other more interesting entrees. They had standard offerings on the kids' menu also that my 10 year old enjoyed.

I had the Beef Tenderloin. It came with a delicious potato gratin and I even tried the ratatouille. It exceeded our other dinners by a mile--I will always book The Wave before I even check for openings at Le Cellier.

Our service was wonderful also. I hate when servers make you feel guilty for not ordering an alcoholic drink. We got that vibe from our Kona server. Everyone at The Wave was spectacular.
