Has anyone ever attempted to do a clambake on the stove or grill? Most recipes I see have seaweed as an ingredient. I don't have access to seaweed so I was wondering if anyone has tried it without. Also, how big a pot did you use. The kids want to try this with clams, oysters, mussels, shrimp and crab legs. Any recipes would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a bunch

we use a huge pot.....and always add a can of beer.....have no clue why but the flavor is excellent.....

Sounds good to me. A can for me and a can for the pot.

I take it you don't use seaweed?

we dont' use it.......messy anyways.....we are from maine and nothing better then a Maine seafood fest........

in your post take longer then others to cook....so each one has to be put in according to length of cooking time......look on line and they will tell you

It is one of our favorite meal when we go camping. We take 1 big pot, and add lemons cut in half, onions cut in half, salt and bay seasonning, then we add potatoes, let them cook about 7 minutes, then corn, cook 2 minutes, then shripms again cook 2 minutes finish by adding mussels and clams, when they pop open you are ready to eat.........
Play around with the cooking times, if the potatoes are not cooked enough just put them back in, we use a huge slotted spoon to "fish" everything out.......

Thanks for all of the great information. I think we're gonna try it this weekend.
