Need pts for 2 BC studio's 10/10 thru 10/13

I am new to renting points. After being given very disappointing info from Dolphin about Oct rates we decided to look into renting points. We need two rooms and want to stay at an Epcot resort. I checked with the calculator and it says we will need 9 pts for a BW standard and 12 pts for a Beach Club studio. Prefer the Studio.

Are taxes added after points are purchased? Are there any other charges than the cost per point?

Any suggestions or help will be appreciated.

There are no taxes or other fees. The cost of 9 points is all you would pay.

My suggestion would be that unless the Swan/Dolphin rates are just impossible on your budget, I would make a ressie there as a backup plan while you look to rent points. October is extremely popular in the Epcot resorts because of the Food & Wine Festival and availability is usually pretty limited. The Swan/Dolphin usually sell out after the BWV and BCV fill. I would guess that a standard view studio would be totally sold out and low probability on any availability at either BWV or BCV (you are inside the 7 month window). You might be able to have success with someone who already has a reservation and can't go, but meanwhile I would have a backup - either the Swan or rent at OKW or SSR. There may still be openings there.

Note if you have AAA the Swan and Dolphin do offer a AAA disc.

I qualify for the FL AP. The problem is the CM at the Dolphin was not very encouraging about their applying the discounts in Oct. She stated Oct is getting much busier for them with conventions and such and if they did not need to to sell rooms they would not be honoring any discounts. She said even the teacher or government.

So this is what got me thinking about renting points.

As someone here suspected, there are no studios available for those dates at either the BW or BCV. OKW is also booked for those dates. Member Services quoted that Saratoga and Fort Wilderness studios are available. I just got this info from them a few minutes ago. If you are interested in either of the two resorts available , I do have points available for $10 a point. Enjoy your trip. My wife and I will be at OKW for 6 nights beginning October 15th. It is a nice time to be down there.

FWIW, there are no DVC villas at Fort Wilderness. DVC is located at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge and I really doubt the availability of anything at VWL since it is so small.

I stand corrected, Villas at Wilderness Lodge, not Fort Wilderness. But Member Services said they DID have studios available at the VWL for October 10-13.
