need prayers for dd4 operation on tuesday

I will say a prayer for your DD and for you right now.

Prayers and PD for your DD, I wish my parents would have taken my adnoids out. It'll help her sleep better in the long run!

Your daughter has my thoughts and prayers that everything goes smoothly.
You have my thoughts and prayers too. :)

 Prayers and pixie dust is coming your way. I'm sure everything will go great and your DD will be up and running a few days after the surgery.

My DD had this same surgery done when she was 3yrs old and she was eating very soft foods the next day. After a week you would have never known that she had the surgery. Modern mediciane is a true gift!!!

One of my twins has adnoids only out the other had tonsils and adnoids. Simple procedure but very painful. Make sure you buy tylenol that can be administered rectally in case its too painful to swallow. Lots of yummy ice cream too.:D
Now both of them do not snore and sleep better!

I hope all goes well on Tuesday. Wishing her a quick recovery.

Good luck! My son had his tonsils and adenoids out when he was 4. Our surgery center had a program where kids went and visited the facility before the operation. It made Andrew feel a lot better and he was not scared.

Before you go you might review with your daughter what to expect. Let her know that she will be asleep during the procedure.

The hardest part is getting them to drink the first 48 hours. Our ENT said Andrew would heal much faster if he would drink more. He would cry if we made him drink a teaspoonful.

Good luck! I remember being nervous! The good news is that Andrew is 6 now and has not been nearly as sick!! I'm glad we did it.

My thoughts and prayers are with your daughter.... trust me, it's the best thing... Joey stopped storing, breathed easier, no more ear infections (of course he had tubes put in @ the same time).

Good luck..I am sure she will do fine. I had mine out as an adult (19) and it was awful. They say the younger the better. Lots of popsicles and Jello. I found warm Jello (right after you mix the cold/warm water) to provide the most comfort. Pixie dust coming your way.....

Our first born son had tubes put in and his adnoids taken out when he was 4. My son passed the operation with flying colors… but I almost passed out in the waiting room.

Take care

{{{HUGS}}}} and ****Pixie Dust**** for you and your DD  :grouphug:

I can only imagine the anxiety you are feeling! Pixie dust to DD!!

Prayers for your daughter. I am also praying for a very speedy recovery.
No surgery is ever small when it comes to our children!!!

I will be there in spirit with you!
Our littlest one just went through this on May 28th.
I was a wreck, couldn't sleep the night before. The surgery itself is quick as a wink though, thank God. 40 minutes- it was over and they came to take me to recovery to be with her.
The feeling better part is what is tough.

Go to Walmart and buy a "Rival" snow cone machine if you have a chance today. The one where you can throw regular ice cubes in it are best ($24.97). They have different flavor syrups too but we found that the root beer one was the best. You know how sometimes real fruity flavors kind of sting if you have a sore throat?
I am so glad I got one for her. She didn't want ice cream, pop sicles, slurpies. Those snoballs are what kept her hydrated for the first 6 days. Stock up on plain chicken noodle soup too.

I'll say a prayer for you both. You will get through this but I have to tell you it was a tough two weeks post op. Our doc says the younger they are , the quicker they recover. 4 is younger than almost 7. Your little one should bounce back faster and better.

stacilee.. great idea!! i never thought of sno-cones!! i''ll have dh stop on his way home tonight and get one!! thanks!!!! there will be no sleeping for me tonight.. my stomach is already in knots and i have to get though work yet today!!!!
