Under regular circumstances it is so hard as a parent to see our children feeling sick and uncomfortable, but it must be agony for you knowing what you really need to do versus what your heart is saying. The chicken pox will ease up in a couple of days. take care of yourself.
Lots of good thoughts and pixie dust on it's way. There is a chance you are immune to chicken pox, hopefully that is the case. If she had the immunization she should have a light case, do try to keep from exposing yourself more than you have to. That would be hard but you have to stay well too.
Lisa, don't take unnecessary chances here. It's bad enough when any adult contracts chicken pox but, with your weakened system, I'm sure it'd be Hell!!
Emily should be better and, no longer contagious, in a few days. {{HUGS}} for both of you.
Thank you all so much for the nice thoughts. We are doing very well. Emily seems to feel pretty good and doesn't have but a few more spots than yesterday. The dr's office said that most of the spots would show up within 3 days so hopefully no more new ones. It actually seems to be a very mild case (they said since she had the vaccine that helped at least). It seems that 25% of kids that get the vaccine also get chicken pox. That seems pretty high to me. A good friend of mine that is a nurse feels like I must be immune from exposure over the years so we're hoping. We are still being very careful. Thanks again.
