Need prayers and good thoughts for Kevin's Mom today * Update 5/8/11*

Kevin, Val & I are sending along for you, John and your Mom.

The people in hospice are absolutely wonderful. I don't know how they can do the job they do, but am thankful that they are there.

Keep in mind that Hospice is not just for your Mom, they are there for you as well since their service includes counseling for the family too.

Kevin, I dont know what I can say in this point in time but I know how you are feeling right now. It happen 14 years ago when I was 14 and my mom got really sick in the hospital. I prayed my little heart out and she got better.

I will be praying my little heart out tonite that your mom gets better. She is such a WONDERFUL lady! She has a warm smile and that is something that you have inherited from her. If you need anything, and I mean anything my mom and I are here for.

Kevin - we went through this same type of situation almost two years ago with DH's mom. It was truly the hardest decision we ever had to make, but it was what was truly best for her. It was the worst for us, but that's cause we wanted her with us. When we saw her breathing easy for the first time since she had been diagnosed, we knew we made the right decision.

Prayers to your mom that she is comfortable and that you and your family cherish the time you still have together.

Hospice was wonderful and I don't know if we could have gotten through it without them. Lean on them, they are used to it.

Sorry to hear about your mom. The decision to involve hospice, while one of the most difficult decisions you will ever make, is a wonderful choice. As a nurse, I see what what hospice is capable of, and don't know how they do their jobs. Our hopsice nurses and staff are a wonderful, caring bunch who look after not only the patient, but the family as well.

May your mom have a peaceful journey and may you find comfort in your decision.
