Need potty training help

I'm at a loss trying to potty train DS. I neve had this problem with older DS so I could use some advice and suggestions. He will go on the potty and even poop on the potty but only when he is butt naked. As soon as I put underwear or pullups on him he won't go on the potty and he pees in his pants. I can't tell you how many times I've cleaned up after him. I make hime sit on the potty every half hour or so. Then about 2 or 3 minutes after sitting on the potty he will pee in his pants. I take his pants off he goes on the potty just fine. Today I put his swim trunks on and we sat on the potty several times but then he peed in them a few minutes after sitting on the potty

I'm not sure what else to do with him. I really want him to start going. He's going to be 4 next month while we're in Disney and I don't want to be changing diapers or pullups. When he was in diapers he would go all day in a poopy diaper if I would let him. He just doesn't want to be bothered. Oldest DS was so excited to go on the potty I didn't have to go through this with him.

This is a weird answer, but it worked for me... My son did the same thing, if he was naked he'd use the toilet, if he had underwear or pullups he'd pee them. For some reason unknown to me if he went without underwear (but with pants) he'd use the potty. It was a little embarrassing when he started daycare to explain to his teachers that he was "commando" but otherwise nobody knew. I don't remember how long the commando phase lasted, but it was at least several months. Good luck!

I let my DS go naked for a couple weeks until he got the hang of the potty all the time. Of course we stayed home most of the time and I would only put a pull-up on him at night. Then after he got the hang of going when he was naked, we moved up to underwear. That took a much shorter amt. of time for him to catch on to, then we moved on to pants. It worked really well for him.
