I found a great rate at the Hyatt Regency & a super cheap flight so I might be suprising DH with an overnight.

I've never been to the area- have read about the inner harbor & the usual touristy type things to do.

If we are arriving Fri morning & leaving Sat. morning what should we absolutely see, do? Any recommendations for a great Birthday dinner spot on Fri night?

TIA

If you like Italian food, then Sabatino's is one of the best. Make sure you get the Bookmaker salad with the house dressing. YUM We live over an hour away and we will call in a take-out order, that is how much we love the food.

If you are interested in seafood, and were looking for crabs, just know that this time of year the crabs you get are not true Maryland blue crabs. And please don't be swayed to go to Phillips. I know everyone says it is the best place to go, but trust me, it is a big waste of money. I have not been to these restaurants but I have heard that Bertha's and Legal Sea Foods is good. If I want good seafood, I go to a little place out of the way half way between Baltimore and Annapolis, so I don't know that much about the Baltimore seafood places.

Have a good trip!

I've not enjoyed any of my meals at Phillips either. There is a Morton's and a Shula's within walking distance of the Hyatt if you are beef eaters.

We have always enjoyed the aquarium, science center and Port Discovery, but that was with our DD, not by ourselves. If Dh is a baseball fan, there might be tours of the field during your time there, or Babe Ruth's birthplace. If he likes trains, the B & O train museum is nice.

We stayed one year at the OMNI. I would stay away from that hotel if at all possible. The surrounding area was very scary. And at night time it looked like people were selling drugs on the corners. I also thought our room was dusty. Dust would come off of the bedspread if you patted down on it. I think at one time, maybe 20 years ago, this hotel was very nice.
