We will be a group 10. Me, my DW, DD10, DS7, DBro, SIL, Nef8, Nei5 (what are the abbreviations for neice & nephew??), and my parents.

In your opinion, will Planet Hollywood be good/fun for a group this size??

Thanks in advance for your input.

Honestly, your server will make or break the experience. The kids will enjoy the atmosphere, you older folks will appreciate all the memoribilia, and the menu, while definitely eclectic, is pretty decent, and the burgers, especially, are just fine. I was disappointed once with a pasta dish ... can't remember what it was.

BUT - on our last visit, we had a waiter that was distracted, aloof, and patronizing when he was around. It really took some of the edge off the experience, but one bad server does not a lifetime opinion make.

If you've not been to a PH anywhere else, this one's the most over-the-top stylistically. Based on the makeup of your group, I'd say go for it.

I often feel like Im the only one who feels this way, but we really enjoy PH. Weve been 3x and always have had a very good meal.
On our last visit there, last year, I tried the LA Lasagna and found it to be excellent! I cant wait to get back and have it again...however we are unable to get a PS so I dont know if we will actually make it back this trip. :(
We had friends with us last year and it was their first visit to PH. When they first saw the menu they felt it was overpriced, but after they had their meals they said it was well worth it.

Not trying to put a damper on the reviews since I haven't been to the PH in DD, only the one in Dallas. I've been there a couple of times and while the memorabillia IS neat, it is always crowded and very LOUD. Someone that's been to the Disney location can tell you whether it is the same there but if it is I'd recommend eating at an "off" time so the 10 of you can hear each other. Both times we've gone to PH was with other couples and we couldn't hear each other. Of course on a good note, we didn't have to worry about the kids making noise :p

ive taken my db(11) and ds (20) many times to the ph in dd. weve always had a great time (been there 5 times) and never had a bad meal. we love the appetizer captian crunch chicken fingers (i think theyre called chicken crunch finger or something) very good.( i even loved these at the ph in phoenix). the atmosphere is very upbeat and fun.

Hubby, kids and I..all love Planet Hollywood.

We have enjoyed the WDW location since it opened. We always have a blast there...we have seen many stars, gotten many autographs and had some great food.

You will get many mixed reviews on this board...it is the moderate priced menu place with cool drinks and such.

Our kids, now all in their 20's still love it..and so do we. Hubby and I still go alone..because we are hooked on the LA Lasagna and Cobb Salad..oh, and you can't forget the Cap'n Crunch chicken fingers..yummy!

We really enjoyed PH and even my cheap stepdad didn't feel that it was outrageously priced for what we got for food. It wasn't excessively loud when we were there, but we were also eating lunch around 2:30. However, the food is very good, and our waiter was great! He actually sat down at our table when he found out we were from NH and started chatting with us, all about the cold winter, since he's from Iowa. Just an allaround good experience.

I think all PHs are the same. I have been to a couple, including DTD, and always leave wondering why I bother... I think its loud, PACKED, and overpriced. I have never been impressed with the meals, and have never gotten great service. It's not Disney exclusive, either, so I wouldn't waste my money on it, personally... There are SOOOOOOO many incredible places to eat at Disney, that ARE exclusive, why waste money on a hit and miss chain. You know?

Btw- we ate there last time because we had gift certificates.

The place gets mixed reviews, but thats just my thinking. Good luck in your decision.

If it's free, sure, go ahead and eat there, the food isnt' that bad for free food.

Otherwise there are SO many better places to eat for less money, better service, and much better food.

I like Bongo's and Wolfgang Pucks. Even Rainforest has better food IMHO, although the service there isn't so hot either.

I didn't think Planet Hollywood was that great. It was loud, noisy, and the food was fairly mediocre. Personally, I wouldn't go back. If you have kids, they might be interetsted, but to me it seemed like most kids wouldn't reconize a lot of the props they have there ("Ed Wood", "Planet of the Apes", etc.)

We always eat at PH on our trips. We go at lunch time since its less crowded than dinner time. We have always enjoyed our food and had good service. I know lots of ppl dont give it good reviews but we like it.

We go to PH every trip. We generally have an early dinner, so it's not that crowded or loud.

We have a mixed group when it comes to eating and everyone finds something they like. The spinach appetizer is a favorite. I like the burgers and the onion rings are very good. I think the prices are very reasonable.

I've always liked the fun side of PH and with a group that size it won't matter if you're noisy. It's cool for every age, except maybe senior citizens ( even they like the memorobilia)
I would definitely give it a go! By the way, we all love the food in our family.

Love Claire.

We've had a late lunch/early dinner there a few times, we always liked it. Last time I think we got there about 5:30 on a weeknight and we were seated immediately on the second level. I like the chicken fingers too! My Mom and I usually get the chicken fingers as an appetizer and then split a club sandwich (w/fries). I've also been to the locations in Las Vegas & Atlantic City, I like Orlando the best (largest).

::MickeyMo great resturant very loud but thats planet hollywood. great food but makes reservations first.

We eat there at least once when we go to WDW. The food and service has always been good.:D

If you joined the Hotwire Savings Club to buy Disney meal vouchers, don't forget you can buy gift cards for Planet Hollywood.

Its a good deal Maggie thats what we do and if you go to Universal they also have HRC ones as well.

Have eaten at PH at DTD a few times in the last few years. Have had the rack of ribs and the steak. It has always been good. It is best to go early rather than later for an evening meal.
