Need paper ressie?

Hi! We're renting points for a 4 night stay at the BWV in February (last minute trip). Can anyone tell me if I need to get a paper confirmation from the DVC member that I'm renting from? They e-mailed me a confirmation # and I called member services to verify the confirmation. I then transfered money (since it was less than 30 days out). I just started thinking that maybe I need an actual paper reservation (besides my confirm #). Do I need to contact my DVC member and ask for that? Thanks for the info.

I recently rented out points to a family for a reservation that I was not able to get them the written confirmation before they left. They had no problem checking in. I did double check the reservation a few days prior to the trip and made sure they had my cell phone #, just in case there was a check-in problem. I called them that evening and they were in the room with no problems.

I've never needed either the paper confirmation or the confirmation number to check in. You shouldn't either.

That said, tiberius gave you good advice. Call right before you leave to make sure that everything is OK and specifically check to make sure the reservation is still in your name. There have been reports that some type of "system glitch" has removed guests' names from the reservation and substituted the member's name. If that happens to you, you'll still have time for the member to call and straighten it out. It would be a good idea if you can get the member to give you his/her telephone number in case you run into any problems.

IMHO, there is very little chance of a problem, so try not to worry. I just think it's always a good idea to be prepared.
