My sister bought a Pal Mickey for my 5-yr.old DS. How do you carry him around and will all 3 of us be able to hear him? Do you take him into rides? I'd hate to leave him in the stroller. And I really don't want any of us to wear him. Seems bulky and we like to travel light and wear loose clothing. Does he work in the hotels too?

We bought a lanyard that people put the pins on that hangs around your neck and clipped him onto it....so it was like a giant pal mickey necklace. This made it easy so when he vibrated and giggled I just held him up and we could hear what he was saying perfectly....had no problems with him on the rides or anything, he may get a little heacy after a while but you can take turns with him.

My daughter never put him down. He still goes everywhere with her. DO NOT leave him in a stroller. He will be stolen and probably sold on Ebay. We love all of the great info. that he gives in the parks. You can hear him in the hotel but it will just be jokes and games. He only gives info. on the park that he is in at the time.

All three of you will not be able to hear him at once. In most places at Disney, the ambient noise is enough that you need to hold him up to your ear to hear him. However, Mickey is very patient, and he will repeat himself in case you missed what he said, so everyone can have a turn with him!

I second the idea of using a pin lanyard to carry him. The newer pin lanyards all have a velcro section so that they break away in case of entanglement, so I like putting him on an older lanyard, since he's a bit more expensive than a bottle of water.

Do take him into rides. He isn't very disruptive, though you may want to talk to the 5yo about appropriate times to squeeze him and make him tell a joke (not in the middle of the Sounds Dangerous show, for example). Also, there's one ride that we have consistently had Mickey talk spontaneously on... Haunted Mansion. He scared my sister pretty badly the first time he started vibrating in the dark. If your neice is scared of HM, you may want to hold Pal Mickey for her during that ride.

I bought one of the bottle lanyards sold at the drink carts and put the loop around Mickey's neck.
