There are 4 of us, me 53, dh 60, ds 21 and his gf 22. Last year 3 of us (dh stayed home to sleep as we had to drive 22 hrs next day) went to EPCOT for NYE and had a BLAST!!!!:woohoo:  This year we will be at Disney for Christmas but so far have not had any luck getting a timeshare in our resort for the week of NY, sooooo, I have used some Starwood points to stay at the Sheraton at Universal and we thought we would do Universal for NYE. I have read a post (all that I could find) that it was very obnoxious with lots of drunken people throwing up, annoying teens etc. We did not have that experience at EPCOT. Can someone please tell me of their experience? We drink, so that's not the problem, but I could do without people being obnoxious and throwing up everywhere. :sad2:

I haven't been on NYE but I can't imagine you would see people throwing up everywhere. The main party location is CityWalk and there are clubs that serve alcohol. If you're in one of the parks I would imagine you'd see some people "having a good time" with drinking but that's not the norm. I think you'd be fine and would have a good time.

Thanks for your response and advice. I find it hard to believe too. Still would like to find someone who has been there at NYE. Right now I can't even find the post that said that they ended up leaving the park and going back to Disney because it was so bad. I was surprised, really. I remember 2 years ago my ds and I staying for the Mardis Gras parade and there were a ton of people and took us a long time and it was pretty scary getting out but not really rowdy or anything. Apparently by the responses, we'll have the park to ourselves, LOL.:cool1: I still can switch to the other Sheraton and do EPCOT again, but have the Universal 7 day and would like to take advantage of it rather than buying a Disney ticket. ( would only need one)

I went to the NYE party at CityWalk the year before last. We paid $90 or so for each ticket which included tons of food, party hats, horns, etc., champagne toast, 2 performances from Cyndi Lauper and admission to all the clubs. It was a lot of fun and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. It was very organized and well-run. It was neat to go inside all the clubs and check them out, some of them are very cool. I personally didn't see any barfing, fights, drama, etc. The CW party wasn't wall-to-wall people. There were definitely a lot of people there, but it wasn't uncomfortably crowded at all. I was actually a little apprehensive about the party prior to going because it seems like intoxicated females find a reason to hate me (they think I'm staring at their boyfriend, giving their shoes dirty looks, etc., whatev) so I usually stay away from the club scene, but I thankfully didn't come across any of that.

After midnight, we were standing on the bridge/walkway over the exit/entrance to the parking garage just watching people leave. Holy moly, there were a ton of people leaving the parks! That of course was expected. But again, I didn't see anything like you had mentioned. Well except annoying teenagers but I see them just about everywhere. ;) The CW party is 21+ so no annoying teenagers there. :)

AK-Love your little kitty picture. It is so precious. Enjoyed reading your post and appreciate you posting for all of us. It sounds like a lot of fun. It sounds like maybe a younger crowd?
