Need opinions on Ohana's dinner

We were there two weeks ago and it was delicious. :goodvibes:goodvibes

DH and I ate and ate and ate. The kids ordered chicken nuggets and fries and got them within 5 minutes of ordering.

We also got the Lupa Lupa's. VERY strong drink but oh so good! ;)

Soooo glad to hear that they'll bring my son chicken and fries. The poor child just doesn't like anything with sauces or spices, etc. etc. etc. Everybody tells me to just MAKE him eat it. Well, you know what, I'm not about to let anybody MAKE me eat anything:lmao: so why should I make him.;)

Is it possible to get steak at Ohana that is not overcooked?
BTW by my definition medium rare is overcooked.

Ask your server if you can get some rare steak. We have found the waitstaff at Ohana's to be very accommodating with requests like that.

MTT, Ohana is one of our favorite restaurants in WDW. It's a must-do on every trip. The food is very similar to what we were served at "Polynesian" restaurants when I was a kid. I don't know if areas outside North Jersey had these type of eateries in the 60's/70's, but the one we usually went to was named "Chan's Dragon Inn." It was elaborately decorated with blow-fish lanterns, fake parrots and Tiki masks. Specialties there included the Pu-Pu Platter (with real fire in the middle!) and lavish adult beverages with funny descriptions on the menu. If you've been to this type of restaurant and liked it, you'll love Ohana.

One thing I've noticed in complaints about Ohana on this board is people claiming the meat is dried out. I wonder if those people used the dipping sauces that come with the meal. I personally like my pork and chicken well done and use sauce to moisten it.

They will happily bring your son chicken nuggets and fries, but be forewarned that you'll still have to pay full price for him.

Ohana's bread pudding (a dish I usually dislike) is beyond belief delicious. It is seriously one of the most scrumptious things I have ever put in my mouth. The blend of textures plus the contrasts of hot and cold make it to-die-for.

Lastly, it's not a bad idea to eat there on the late side since there's a good chance your table will have a view of Wishes. If you're not in a hurry, you can even request to be seated there. It's a really special place to enjoy Wishes, and I recommend it. :)

We have ADR's for dinner on two different nights of our 8 night stay!! My family and I absolutely love 'Ohana so when choosing TS restaurants my boys ages 19 and 16 specifically asked if we could do 'Ohana twice. Of course I said sure we can!!! :thumbsup2
