We are planning to stop there prior to our Disney stay. Is it worth going to for 2 days or not - we have 3 kids 6, 4, and 2.

Thanks!

Well, I think they might be a bit to young unless they are Nickelodeon fans. If they are only Nick Jr. Kids, then I wouldn't really recommend it. The NickHotel is more for the 8-14 crowd.

While I have never been there I have tried to do my homework on this hotel. I have to say I have never been so perplexed by a hotel such as the Nick Hotel. :confused3 I have had close friends stay there and thought it was great. However, others have told me thet will never stay there again. One friend recently told me he had "cockroaches" run across his son while he was in bed!! I know that sounds incredible but he gave me the while story about it and I believe him. Also, if you have gone through reviews you'll see people either love it or hate with such a passion. So where does that leave us? The reviews are so bi-polar. My final conclusion is I'm staying away. It's either hit or miss and for our first family Disney vacation I'm not taking a chance. But that is my own humble opinion.

It's expensive for the level of hotel it really is, but you're paying for all that Nick theming and the pool (which is amazing, but gets very crowded). It used to be a Holiday Inn Family Suites and we stayed there both before and after it became the Nick Hotel. I didn't find the rooms to be changed at all, except for the new Spongebob wall paper in the kids room, and the price for the room doubled! I liked it better when we got a room there 2 BR suite there for $99 a night, I think. When we went at Easter 2005, the room was $250.

I never had any issues with the hotel, the cleanliness or anything else. For Disney visits, I'd rather stay at Disney -- it will cost the same (or more or less, depending on what resort) and be much more convenient. If you're not doing Disney, it's a fun place to stay and it's nice that the kids can have their own room and mom and dad get their own room.

Well, if it helps any, I had a great time. We had no problems.

The reason I posted was the very issue of extremely mixed reviews on other sites. I decided last night to call Disney - the quotes I had gotten from Disney earlier in the day were higher but then last night it came in at less than the Nick Suites. I'd much rather go with a place I know will be awesome than one I'll worry about. So, we added 3 days to our vacation making it an 11 day trip! I am so excited as this was a horrid year for our family (loss of family members) and I needed something wonderful to look forward to.

Thanks for the input.

Booked a room for next month at $150 night (includes all taxes) plus getting a $50 gas card being mailed to us for a deluxe room (king bed/themed bunk beds and fold out couch bed). Never stayed here, always stayed on Disney property, but passholder rates for onsite were all booked up at time of request, so we will try it. Any suggestions on which area to request for that type of room?
Thanks for any help.
