We will be booking our ADR's tomorrow for a September trip. Trip participants are just DH and I (both 27). We will be paying for the Dining Plan. Here are the TS restaurants we are choosing. Any opinions/suggestions? I guess my only concern is that it sounds like a ton of food!
O'hana (first night dinner)
Sci Fi (lunch)
Le Cellier (dinner)
Breakfastasaurus (breakfast!)
Whispering Canyon Cafe (dinner)
Cape May Cafe (dinner)
Chef Mickey's (dinner)
Crystal Palace (last day breakfast)
Thanks!
I love Sci Fi- shakes (regular or "adult" ) and burgers are delicious!!!!! Atmosphere is THE BEST.
Never done Le Cellier, WCC or Breakfastosaurus, but I do have an ADR for Le Cellier this summer.
Cape May Cafe was great- mashed potatoes and oreo bon bons were most memorable. Peel and eat shrimp and clam chowder were good, too. Walk around the Boardwalk before or after dinner, maybe even catch some fireworks!
Chef Mickey's was decent for breakfast, but I can't comment about dinner.
Crystal Palace was excellent- loved the Breakfast Lasagna and esp. the Puffed French Toast! Wow!!!!!!! Next time I may eat *just* that! Characters and servers were enthusiastic and this was an allover stellar experience.
I was really really disappointed in the changes at 'Ohana (We used to LOVE it!) and I wouldn't go back again at least with the current menu. The wonton chips were greasy, hard and flavorless, the stir fried vegetables were practically raw (and I am a veggie lover) but they were inedible and the Hawaiian sausage was like cheap, bland bologna. I *do* LOVE Kona cafe and with the creative desserts, chocolate sculptures and unbeatable fresh seafood, and amazing coffee, I would much prefer Kona.
I would also suggest that since it's just the two of you, you might want to replace one place (maybe Chef Mickey's?? or WCC? ) with a more romantic, adult oriented restaurant. A lot of your choices will be child-oriented or character meals, (coconut races and hula hoops and 'Ohana, characters and napking twirling at Chef Mickey's, more characters at Crystal Palace, all sorts of antics at WCC, and more characters and improv at Restaurantasaurus) and a romantic place- Citricos, Bistro de Paris, Artist Point, Jiko, Flying Fish Cafe, Shula's, etc. might be enjoyable.) Only you know what you like, though, so this is just a suggestion. I know I'd need a break to enjoy a quiet adult meal.
Anyway, the rest of your ADR's sound great and I hope you have an awesome trip. I'd read up on 'Ohana and Kona and see if the switch sounds good to you, though.
Have a great vacation!
