I want to try a new dinner location for CP this year - DH wants to be fairly close to the CP entrance. It's just the two of us. How is the food at L'Originale Alfredo of Rome? Which dishes are the best? Is it worth the additional money for tier III? We've previously tried the restaurants at Canada and at France - both were excellent.

We love Alfredo's. The calamari appetizer is outstanding. I had the pasta trio...(lasagne, fettucine alfredo and gnocci with walnuts in a light sauce)...I could not decide which was the best...all three wonderful.

There are a lot of so-so posts on this board so we decided not to try Alfredo's...what a mistake...we could have been having this great food all along.

We also love Chefs de France...we like Le Cellier for appetizers and desserts...and the breadsticks of course.

webray I know what you mean, sometime I jst love a place and people give it mediocre reviews, I am looking forward to eating there.

So-So -- thought it was overpriced for nothing special pasta. The dessert was so bad it was laughable, and the server had recommended it. I think if was basil cake -- my Mom kept saying, this is a joke right?

Of course I feel that way about most of the World Showcase restaurants. For the money you pay, around here you would get an excellent meal.

Alfredo's gets beaten up alot, but we've never had a bad meal there. In fact, we've had an excellent meal every time!

I usually get their specialty, which is the fettucine alfredo. It's wonderful! .

I think the atmosphere is fun as well, although I think it can get a little cramped and crowded around 7pm or so.

This is one of our favorite Disney restaurants, and we make it a point to eat here during every trip. Enjoy!

My family really likes Alfredo's. The pizzas and fettucine alfredo are great as is the tiramisu! My DB had the spaghetti and said it was really good also.

DH ans I were talking a bout this the other night. We loved Alfredo's and would eat there every trip until about 5 years ago. We were crammed in and the lady next to me would elbow me every time she took a bite. The fettucine was like wallpaper paste, my lamb was cooked a cinder even though I had asked it be cook medium rare, so we haven't been back since. As we were thinking back, it seems to me this as at the time of 25th anniversary celebration and the parks were mobbed and well as the restaurants. We won't be doing Alfredo's this trip but have vowed to give another try next year.

We went there in May '01. I don't think I'll be going back. We had a negative experience and for that kind of money, I won't give it a second chance. If I plan on having a nice sit-down meal, I'd much rather spend the money at Le Cellier or another restaurant that has provided a good experience.

We were there in june 2001, We loved it! It was our favorite meal of the trip!!!! Hope you enjoyed!!

We at in Canda (le Cellar) in June 2002 and loved the moose dessert. In May 2003 we ate in Italy (Alfredo's).

The desset platter is wonderful.
They made my DD plain spagetti with butter.
My DS ate flat bread pizza.
I don't remember what we ate , but it was delicious.
The bread is freshly made. They give you olive oil to
dip it in. My DD wanted butter. They gave her a chunck of
butter and a weird look. Hey - 7 year olds like butter, not oil.
The bill was our highest at WDW (and it was lunch) - but
delicious.

IF you want steak - go to Canada.
IF you want romance and a quiet place for lunch, go to Alfredo's.

When we came out of Alfredo's, a mime dance troupe
was outside performing. A very nice ending to lunch.

I'm going to finally take a chance and try this place!

We really like this place also. Yes, I may have been slightly disappointed once or twice, but this happens with any restaurant. Mostly it has been fabulous. I found the trio (as mentioned before) and the fettucine alfredo to be excellent. I'm not big on the dessert so I just skip it. The bread is great, the wine is good, the men are Italian, the atmosphere is nice, what's not to like? Try it. I hope you have a nice meal.

yuck, yuck, and double yuck...

We've tried this place 3 times over the years and have NEVER had a good meal. Someone above hit it right on the head..wall paper paste! Yuck! Very overpriced for what you get.

A note about CP..The standby line forms on the Italy side. those with CP dinner package get in line on the other side.

I think that if you want to try it go for it. Everyone's tastes are different. I've given it 2 chances and won't return. The food was mediocre at best but I am picky since I make homemade Italian food at home. Alfredo's food is about even (or a little less) than the quality of an Olive Garden chain in my and 5 other family members opinions.
