We are staying at Universal and then going to Disney from 09/28-10/05. For 7 nights with room only and 4 day hopper plusses (2A 3C), my total would be 1913.00 (we have one plus left from our last trip). For the 7 night FTP - the total 1917.00. I'm having a tough time making the decision (we are staying at POR). I like the thought of having the UPH but then I'm worried if it rains or we do something else that I will feel like we paid for nothing. Please give me your opinions. Thanks.

$4, right...

no question, change to the FTpackage and enjoy the parks for 8 days instead of 4/5 days. You will have the flexibility to go to the parks leisurly, take many breaks and have many opportunities to see the nighttime shows (Fantasimic, Illuminations, Spectro etc). If you only go 4 days, you may try and 'cram' it all in to make sure that you get your $$ out of it.

Same resort, same time $4... GO FOR IT!
Save your ph's for the next trip!

Yes, pay the extra $4.00. It really gives you a lot of options. Even in the rain, we go to the parks. There are plenty of things to do in enclosed areas. Also, I think the UPH gives you access to DQ, so you could do that as well. Save your 4 day PHs and use them in the future when they'll be even more valuable.

I vote for the FTP with UPH. For $4 more, you will have the option of going to the parks for 4 additional days. Even if you only spend half a day at the parks - taking advantage of EE in the morning or catching dinner and a show in the evening. Also, the UPH will allow you to slow the pace of your trip down. If I knew that I would only be in the park 4 of my 8 days, I think I would feel the need to 'cram' a little more in. With UPHs, we always build a break into our day at the park - either back to the pool, a water park, or DQ for our boys. You can always use your park hoppers for the next time.
Have fun!

Another vote for the Fairy Tale Package. For $4 more you are gettng 4 days more in the parks. You won't have to be so "commando" and also you will have the option of PI or DQ.

We go every summer now to All Stars. This summer for Aug i have booked 9 nts, we travel by train so i add a few xtra days. Now i booked room only with AAA dis. so its around 950.00 for 2A, dd14, ddfriend14. This ftp is confusing me. I dont know whether to get the pkg for 7 days, and then do room only for 2 days. Im not sure they would have room left, unless they let us change from room only to pkg. I dont know if its better for us or not. Also we were thinking of getting another room , adj. room for the girls which would add more money, lol of course. I usually get 5 or 6 day hopper plus, cause if we dont use it all we can use it next year. The uph will expire. Im not sure which way to go. Any help.?????? Thanks

I'm worried if it rains or we do something else that I will feel like we paid for nothing.
Just remind yourself that you are getting 3 of the days on the UPH for free, if you go to the parks on those 3 free days, it's a bonus, if you don't, you haven't wasted "paid for" days. ~:D~

Since I didn't have your exact dates, I punched in Aug. 10 - Aug. 17 on the Disney World site under the FTP and got a quote of 1,598.29 for the four of you. Then you would have to add 200.00 (plus tax) more for your extra 2 nights bringing you to 1,798.29.

Right now you are at 950.00 for 9 nights, but still need to add the PHP's. That will be around 260.00 each for a 5 day PHP, multiplied x 4 = 1,040.00. Add that to your 950.00 and you are up to 1,990.00 (with only 5 days and 2 pluses in the parks). So looks like for 200.00 less and a full 8 days in the parks (plus DQ, not included on PHP), the FTP is the way to go. ~:D~

Thanks everyone for your opinions. I think we will cancel our room only and switch to the FTP. Should I get insurance?? It's probably the only time that we will buy a package anyway!! And I guess it worked out for Disney because we will cancel a night at Universal to stay the 7 nights at Disney.
